With Fort William BDS 2015 imminent, here's a look back at last years event!
Fort William never fails to deliver. Another action packed weekend on the steep marshy slopes of Aonach Mor provided the perfect opportunity for me to attempt to make a film and pinkbike article of the downhill antics. With the Fort William World Cup just around the corner, this was the perfect opportunity for some of Britains' - and the worlds - fastest racers to get some practice on the course.
Troy Brosnan blasting through the upper section of the track. He managed a solid time come race runs and bagged the last step on the podium in fifth.
The CRC Nukeproof team here in full force this weekend. With Sam Hill in seventh just missing out on the podium by 7 hundredths of a second, Mike Jones in 13th and Joe Smith with 15th, this team is looking strong for the year ahead.
Loic Bruni didn't manage any kind of result this time around due to problems in his race run, even though he was looking absolutely pinned during practice. His teammate Emmeline Ragot made up for this by taking the win in the womens elite category by nearly 4 seconds.
A lot of work has been done recently to smooth out the incredibly awkward bits of track and now it's running faster than ever.
However don't get the impression that it's any easier.
Especially not in the woods. Thanks to the typical Scottish rain the wood was a complete bog with bike swallowing ruts.
Gee Atherton took a solid win this weekend.
Sam Dale squashing the first hip getting every ounce of speed available. He continues his incredible season with a sixth this weekend.
Alistair Warrell, Full bottom out.
Hart showing us how its done.
Andrew Kelly of All Terrain Cycles
The veiws at the top never fail to impress. John Young here cruising through the top section.
And now here's the video I made, all feedback is welcome. I've got lots of room to improve and i'd like some helpful tips. Please bear in mind all of the videos and photos were taken and edited on an iPhone... Cheers!
Also, filming tip; try keep zoomed in on the rider a bit more, let them take up more of the screen. A lot of the shots in the video, the riders were pretty small.
