 @Fullsend2-13: Well, I did my research prior to the PB field test. Nearly all of our domestic bike magazines and websites have been positive about the bike, as well.

 I mostly agree with you, except that to me Reece Wilson is one of the most likeable characters on the DH racing scene

 I hear you but you might change “positive attitude” with something like “playful” “carefree” public persona or the like. We think we know these racers, and we don’t. I highly doubt anyone reaches the top level of World Cup downhill without a positive attitude. You also don’t reach the top without being pretty serious (I.e. semenuk, atherton). Those attributes may or may not come with a lot of natural charisma in front of the cameras. I hear your argument… results aren’t the only thing that sells bikes and it’s a rare one who competes at the very highest level and also puts forth a chill and fun loving public face (see Michael Jordan vs. Kobe a Bryant?) But if I were one of the guys who’s a little more reserved or serious and I’m just trying to be the fastest I can be and represent my sponsors as well as I can, I’d be pretty bugged by comments from people who think they know my personality.

 What is not to like about Bruni? Isn't it just different ways and the world needs both! People who read post on pinkbike might see more of Jono and Remy but people who don't will probably see more of Bruni when it comes to advertising. And we don't buy as many bikes as the "commoners"

 I don't think "positive attitude" is how I'd describe them.... I think it's more that guys like Remy and Jono are more relatable to the average rider because they're not at the pointy end of the WC or EWS. Their personalities come out in the content they produce, and most people enjoy watching them ride because they're all about having fun and pushing themselves.

 Loic Bruni is a really easy going cat in my experience

 @stevemokan: You're totally right. I should have been more specific. What I meant to say is that it's easier for most customers to identify with a rider whose marketing value isn't generated by the inherently serious business of earning DH world cup podiums, but with people that just go out in the woods and have some light-hearted fun on their bikes.

 The Madeira series was very good. Especially the one where they rode down the long steep chute.

 I'm filling all my tires with it from now on... just hope I don't get any explosive pinch flats!

 Could you elaborate on that? I mean, yes, the teams seem to have a different vibe going in the pits, as far as I can tell from the outside, but a “completely different ethic” for the brands, what ist that about?

 “Ethic” is the wrong word, it puts a sort of moral judgment on it. “Approach” might be better.

 Not sure I agree with that… I personally think it’s more of a long travel trail bike. Climbs amazing and is super playful with an air shock, and has the extra travel when you need it. If you put a coil on it, then it turns into a bruiser. (I don’t race or hit any big drops, I tend to like steep and super technical trails FWIW)

 @stevemokan: Cool that's good to know! How about it sitting high in the travel? I've had a few people tell me that they feel like they're sitting on top of the bike rather than "in" it like other bikes.

 @redrook: hmmm... That’s not something I noticed, it feels very comfortable to me. I run mine with about 30-32% sag on a RS Super Deluxe Ultimate. I’m 5’11” on a large. My only complaint is the longer ST only allows me to run a 160mm dropper, but I have relatively short legs.

 Not accurate at all! i been riding Tyee since a year ago and the bike fits me perfect, climbs like a goat and is so smooth on rough trails.

Raced the full EWS 100 season last year and the bike felt amazing with zero issues and even raced it on DH races twice.

Im 1.76m and my bike si a Medium, the most playful bike i ever owned , considering its a 29"

 @redrook: nothing wrong with the tyee mate on our beautiful wet Scottish trails it goes bloody well, I did hate it at first though and wanted to go back to my trek until I got use to it!

 @Meganstuart1: That's interesting, what did you initially hate about it before you got used to it?

 @redrook: you hit the nail on head, I felt like I was sitting too far forward on the climbs but I very quickly got over that it was more the fox 36 I really struggled with I just felt they were really harsh on roots which you know yourself we can’t get away from! So more the forks and the actual frame really mate lol

 @Meganstuart1: Did you make any adjustments to the suspension or just get used to the way it was?

 @redrook: Per your comment to @Meganstuart1, I think everyone should be tweaking the suspension to themselves. Everyone is massively different in how they like a feel. There is almost no bike that is perfect out of the box. So if the folks you talked to were riding it out of the box with no adjustments its not surprising that they may have had some less than pleasant feedback.

 @redrook: I got a shot of a shockwiz off a mate and what a difference it made mate, I would definitely recommend it to anyone especially people like myself who hasn’t quite got the knowledge of setting up the forks yet!

 @wilsonians: One is an EWS racer - that was regarding the bike feeling tall, and the position being more "on top" than "in". Not necessarily a bad thing, just something to note. That says more about the rider position and BB height than the sus setup.

 They do have a different distribution center (located outside Portland).

 I was told June for a Tyee AL 27.5 frame. Hopefully that holds true.

 Yeah, they have ones they assemble in the U.S for faster delivery. Ordered my January 3rd and is scheduled for delivery at the end of the month! (Tyee CF 29)

 Came to mention the stink-e what with his comment about first ebike. Or maybe the stink-e is still up the tree at the compound.

 I thought he had a day job in the city and bikes were just for fun…
