PRESS RELEASE: Propain

The Spindrift has blossomed into a guarantor of success and has been very popular amongst fans thanks to its versatility. For 2019 this bike has had a number of updates now making it even better!

photo

Freeride bikes are on the rise again and don't have much in common with the classic old school freerider. In recent years, much has changed in terms of components and geometry meaning modern bikes are becoming more versatile. A tour in the Alps with 180 mm suspension travel was regarded as more of a masochistic journey five years ago. Today with the Spindrift you can crank it up the hill and enjoy all the benefits this bike has to offer on the way back down. The Spindrift can only be described as a 'mini downhill bike' that you can also pedal uphill!

photo

The Spindrift whipped up a considerable amount of dust at its launch and has cleaned up on the award front since then. It is no surprise as it effortlessly straddles the divide between an enduro and a big bike. This means you can work your way up the climb and get full downhill performance like never seen before.

This is the only thing I have seen that would tempt me to hang up my scott voltage fr710. Well done propain. It looks pretty too.

Agreed, I loved mine! I’ve been eyeing the new Commencal Clash

@elong801: Caught between this, Clash or the Swoop!

I love the look of Propain bikes, not that I've ever seen one in the flesh.

So what? I LOVE this beast!!!

My Devinci Frantik is a mini DH bike.
It will climb ok if you are good at spinning.
I have a poppy "aggressive " Enduro bike as well.
The Enduro bike is great on flowy stuff which everyone wants to ride these days.
A few of us enjoy large servings of gnar sticking to black and double black trails.
This propain bike is for us.
Thank you for making a bike for us riders who are not looking for flow trails.

 such a pretty bike.

I love the look of this bike and would love to have a tear on one, I just struggle to get my head around the rear shock placement. Surely it just covered in crap every ride
  • 8 0
Actually the rear shock is always the cleanest part since it is protected by a mudguard. I know its weird and I had the same concern but they figured it out. For me its the perfect bike good in uphill and downhill. (btw sorry for neg prop you, I hit the wrong button) Cheers Mate!

@mtbblamtb: Lol, no worries, It looks like an absolute weapon. I'd love to try one out

@mtbblamtb: Just noticed the mud gaurd, in the side profile it's tricky to spot

I have a 2018 version with a coil DB CS and I can assure that the shock doesnt get dirty.. Even in muddy condition it stays pretty clean. The mud guard does it job perfectly

 That's a good looking bike

 Propain bikes look so rad

Available to U S ? Sure are purdy

US isn't listed in their shipping costing...?
  • 3 0
I hoped for a revised rearsuspension, as the kinematics of the hugene looked promising.
  • 1 0
My oh my - for a borderline DH bike w/ a coil shock that Propain is mighty light. To put it in perspective my Process 134 weighs roughly the same as the Spindrift "Start" model. 32.5lbs.
  • 3 0
I love the bike but those are some long chainstays. Otherwise, awesome.
  • 2 1
I’m loving my rage! Best DH bike ever. Super smooth, clean and fast. It pedals like an enduro uphill too!
  • 2 2
I don't think so haha. Are you being sarcastic because I have the Spindrift and it pedal's shit. Enduro Race Bikes will fuck this up big time.
  • 3 0
 I'm in love.
  • 2 0
Is there any plan for USA availability?
  • 1 0
Spindrift, that's a fizzy drink to likes of La Croix. Bikes got pop I guess
  • 1 0
 Not really poppy

How does a 19in frame with a 475mm reach count as XL?
  • 3 0
Unfortunately there was a small mistake with the geometry data at size XL. The reach is 485 mm.
  • 1 0
My previous bike was a 2015 Nukeproof Mega TR. XL 460mm reach! It actually felt fine, but with my new Patrol I went XL 500mm reach.
  • 1 0
@PROPAIN-Bicycles: Finally a XL frame but still a short reach (for taller riders). Why not a little more reach like Nicolai, Mondraker or Pole?
  • 1 0
Not so heavy and pricing is ok
  • 1 0
Good article guys, excited for this kind of coverage.
  • 1 0
Sounds like the TR250 I had 6 years ago just without the dropper...
