Smuggler Trail - Video

Sep 22, 2016 at 7:19
The SHAN GT is our brand new 29” hardtail frame, compatible with 650 + tires. A mountain bike capable of high-speed and long-distance riding in both comfort and style.

The 962 has been inspired from 1982 Rothmans' Porsche team as seen below.

Why did we add a new frame to our range?

While the SHAN is intended for Enduro riding in mountain areas, the OKA is intended for trail and all-mountain riding in hilly areas, one frame was missing. A hardtail able to ride everywhere in every place in both comfort and style. A bike always ready for long riding days, Enduro, Trail, bike park, bike trip, always with performance, comfort, and safety. This new frame is a Grand Tourer, that’s why this frame deserves its name: The SHAN GT.

The 935 has been inspired from 1982 Garretson Porsche team as seen below.

Our 27.5 SHAN is a great success all around the world, thanks to its geometry and the KTP flex system bringing grip and comfort to the rear triangle. Now with 29" or 650B+ tires, the SHAN GT is much more comfortable, more capable, more tolerant, and easier on rough terrain and still fast as hell.

The Shan GT is your perfect companion for any kind of ride. This summer we took our GTs for a small expedition from Andorra to France on an old smuggler trail. We summed up our 8-hour bike trip into a 5min video.

The Shan GT is available on pre-order now on in frame kit (699€) or complete bikes (from 2649€).

that video represents all I love about mountain riding: go on paths hardly suitable for bicycles, or no paths at all, climb and push and carry the bike up those mountaintops until the very top, take a break, calm my heart, take in the scenery, smell a flower and then ride the bike down... sleep in a tent hugging the bike and do it again the next day. I hardly have a few days like this a year, but when I have them... I feel more alive than the rest of the year

Damn that's one nice looking hardtail.

unbelievably beautiful bikes! ive a classic shan 27.5, bloody pricey frame but i spend as much time staring at it as i do riding at it, such a looker!

A really nice looking bike, but I still completely fail to see the link between a 1980's sports prototype and a mountain bike. What next, DH bikes 'inspired by' MotoGP bikes? Isn't this poor marketing trying to piggy back on someone else's engineering/glory?

it's about design, and I doubt you can design anything without inspiration...

I love PP bikes and I love the inspiration for their styling. If I ever bought a hardtail again, it would be one of these.

29 or 27+, great looks, nice price, good company run by good dudes.

Don't look so much into it. It's merely a paint job inspired by some awesome race cars. I would imagine the guys behind PP are into their cars as well as bikes. If they did one in the HB Cigarretes livery of the Audi Quattro S1 I'd probably have to buy it though.
  • + 3
 Its just the paint jobs.
  • + 4
Just a hint: dentists like Porsche! ;-)
  • + 6
PP already made a Shan with Gulf livery inspired paint. Go on, back under that rock
  • + 2
@brunse: That Gulf livery Shan was beautiful!

Nice looking bikes. I'm curious... are the geometry tables on your site measured with or without fork sag?
  • + 2
@ProductionPrivee when will the 27.5 Shan get stealth dropper routing?
  • + 4
Just drill it yourself, steel frames can handle it.
My nearly 5 year old 26" Shan with "ghetto stealth dropper routing" is still in amazing condition. And I'm 220lbs and ride like an absolute hack.
  • + 2
It sure is, nice and clean and simple.

I just said to a mate the other day I could go for a Damon Hill/ Rothmans colour scheme. PP beat me to it!
