 Need to get Brage on that list
  • 15 2
 yeah, why does it seem like he never gets included.
  • 21 0
 Lemoine will Huck that
  • 24 0
 Dylan Stark & Brage
  • 20 1
 My guess is Monster tries to keep Red Bull athletes to a minimum.
  • 11 1
 @joebiden: For real, everyone into watching freeride thinks Brage is easily one of the most legitimate big hit riders alive, and yet the dude gets shunned in every freeride comp. Either doesn't get invited or the judges don't give the respect he deserves.

Hate to say it, but he and Dylan Stark seem to suffer because they aren't "tight" with freeride's core guys. Brage trains in Norway and Stark in Socal, both far away from the usual freeride proving grounds in BC, Utah, the UK, etc.

 @ryanandrewrogers:

>> the usual freeride proving grounds in ... the UK

uhm, what?
  • 6 1
 @plyawn: I think it's undeniable that the UK (mostly Wales I guess) has become at the very least a freeride training ground. They're probably third in producing top freeriders, behind the US and Canada.

What helps is UK freeriders seem to have a like-minded community behind them. They're a tight-knit community with lots of little comps and gatherings. These things are lacking in places like Norway and Southern California.

 @plyawn: he’s talking about his mums house
  • 6 0
 @enduroNZ: Mum's house is essentially rampage lol

Hey, Brendan still got robbed, don't question the methods
  • 3 0
 @centervillecycle: stark was invited but couldn’t go
  • 12 0
 Brage has raced Hardline twice, I imagine he's quite friendly with a few Brits. People read too much into this stuff, guys more of a raw freeracer maybe he's not that into doing 60' back flips, or he had a scheduling conflict, or just knew he was gonna need a massive poo that day and had planned to squat down and read pinkbike comments
  • 5 0
 He also had shoulder surgery late last year, and only started riding again in mid January, my guess is he's still building strength/easing back into bigger stuff.
  • 7 0
 @N-60: He's also hard at work on a huge project (I don't know if I'm at liberty to say more) and probably prioritizing getting that done and ready for release over risking more injuries on comps.

(Hint: He's tired of 10 sec clips, expect something big)
  • 4 0
 @wheelsmith: he will triple that 110
  • 2 0
 @RedBurn: to flat
  • 1 0
 @plyawn: Maybe like all the places Matt Jones rides?
  • 1 0
 Absolutely!!!!!!

 Its like the fest series...but with content we can actually see and enjoy
  • 32 3
 If fest series event happens in the woods and no Instagram content is created, did it even happen? I say no, no it didn't. Cheers to the Dark Fest crew for making a bunch of lives very incrementally happier with this content.

 "We, the Fest Series crew decided to announce and make clear that Darkfest is no longer part of Fest Series. Sam Reynolds has been running the event in a way that is going against the core values Fest stands for. We figured it would be better to part ways.

Fest series is a lot more than performance-based, It's about personalities, a lifestyle, a certain dedication to the art of riding bikes and building trails, things that are far more important than how many views or likes a video gets on social media.

We want Fest Series to represent the art and essence of what we believe riding bikes is all about – and hope it can be an example of realness to future generations and whoever else is into bikes.

Ride on

The Fest Series"

Nico Vink - Gatekeeping the art and essence of bikes while being a rampage judge aaahahaha. Guess the rampage judging starts to make more sense now
  • 12 12
 @jabblede: Unfortunately now I’ll only remember Nico Vink as a total a$$
  • 4 6
 The same clips all over your socials Every 10 seconds........ Probably with some shitty edm...

 @blissindex: one of the worlds greatest free riders, builder an back wheel master is a total ass.. because he has integrity......?

Yeeeeeah fkng roite
  • 19 2
 @blissindex: they (Nico and co) had a different vision. I agree the messaging came off super pompous but the dude is anything but an ass, he is a super nice guy.
  • 13 3
 @naptime: Believe it or not you can be good at riding bikes and still be an ass. I definitely lost respect for a lot if the original fest riders after they tried to shit on dark fest. Sam’s killing it and is bringing tons of new exciting riders both male and female to these events.
  • 2 4
 @nismo325: if you say so......
  • 14 2
 @naptime: yeah, a total ass. Like @nismo325 said, you can be both. It was totally pretentious and unnecessary in the messaging to oust Sam, making it seem like he was kicked out of the club because he brought more media to Darkfest. Instead, he could have just said - Sam’s going a different direction and we’re stoked for him, but we wanna keep the fest series grassroots and raw, no harm no foul. It just came off super snobby, and that kind of drama and gatekeeping kills the sport. Each to their own, but no need to shit on someone else’s thing.

 I'm not saying the OG's are wrong for making the Fest series their own; I am just disappointed I cannot be a consumer of something I am deeply passionate about and want more of.

The response and press release regarding the separation of Darkfest was really hollow and lacked specificity. They certainly don't owe me an explanation, and some things are best kept short and private.

Lacondeguy is still my guy. I just won't get to enjoy his content like I can for Adolf and the Darkfest boi's

Much love and more please

 @blissindex: bollix.... quite simply....
There was one statement from Fest series. One Statement... BUT pb dick head commenters read/put gave in to thier own cog bias an pushed thier own agendas on to an amicable agreement.. F's sake even dark Fest organisers themselves care less aboot this than pb commenters. Why is Nico getting all the flack??? When the decision was made by Fest riders, he just made the Statement??? Again, because pb dick ends...
Of course you're entitled to your opinion, no matter how wrong it is
Nico is a legend as is Sam.. pb commentees are 99% c*nts
  • 6 1
 @naptime: says the PB commentor...

Don't be so hard on yourself.

 I bumped into Chelsea Kimball at mini dream a couple of weeks ago.(I had no idea it was her!)We had a nice chat about the jumps,she said some nice stuff about how I was riding them,we talked and introduced ourselves and it was only afterwards having watched her hit the line that I thought…is it her. Anyway she came across as as a lovely young woman and made this grandmother feel good about what I was doing. I’m too old to try the nonsense that these young women do but they are so inspirational and encouraging,not just for youth but also for us approaching pensionable age!!

 How fast does someone have to be going to clear a 110' foot jump with that takeoff? I could take more time out of my workday and do the math, but I'm guessing at least 42mph/68kph.
  • 2 0
 maybe its the angle or the lighting of that first shot but it looks 'loftier' than the 90 footer and i feel like that should be the other way around. i dont know anything tho
  • 8 0
 Just got done building a 120ft farm shed. To even consider jumping that on a bike makes my hands sweat.
  • 3 0
 There are some online jump calculators that you can play with. I'm sure they're not very accurate for this sort of thing, and the angle of the lip makes a big difference in the distance you'll go. To the extent those calculators are accurate, it looks like they'd need to be going over 50mph to get the distance.

 @8a71b4: is that real??!! Holy crap! that was 100 meters??

 As impressive as it is, and nothing but respect to the skill required to do this - someday one of these kids won't be walking away from a tumble on jumps that size.
  • 1 0
 It's already happened, not sure who but someone broke their ankle or something
  • 5 0
 No Andreu Lacondeguy?
