World Cup Racing Coming to Max as $9.99 Add-On in 2024
What should they say? The ones in the game are lucky if they get minimum money out of the sport and can't risk to behave badly. The ones old enough don't have a say. Not even mentioning that all contracts are already done when this article was written, nothing to change there.

It Looks Like 'Snow Biking' Could Earn a Rainbow Jersey & UCI Ranking Points in 2024
@on-the-move: I'm very positive that I don't have the body and fitness of a moto pro to handle a heavy bike lol. I also don't understand his need for a suspension fork since he 90% only rides on his rear wheel

It Looks Like 'Snow Biking' Could Earn a Rainbow Jersey & UCI Ranking Points in 2024
@mattddrchs: >"maybe still fat bikes though?" I don't think so. There's a snow-downhill cup in Austria called Schneefräsn every year, and I've never seen someone on a fat bike. Most are DH or Enduro bikes. There are also a couple jumps on some tracks and I think those would be too harsh on a rigid bike.

Custom Paint & Parts at the Les Gets DH World Championships 2022
@scantregard: an amateur racer I know even said its normal for commencal bikes (or at least the Supreme) to crack at different places within a single year. That's an anectode from him and a couple of his friends.. They still ride those frames because they are so good, and the guarantee handles the rest.

Marine Cabirou Broke 3 Vertebrae at the Leogang DH World Cup
@BenPea: there's just no need for that. If riders calculate the risks and only ride under a certain threshold, the chance for a vertebrae fractures becomes lower. I don't think that is for discussion, and that was my only argument in the first comment.

Marine Cabirou Broke 3 Vertebrae at the Leogang DH World Cup
@BenPea: "Noone who rides within their comfort zone wins a WC" I don't think so, some riders especially the top pros ride those race tracks more often on one day than I do my local dh trails in multiple days. They study every stone so to say. I think it was thannee who sayd in a interview on race day there is no section where a pro is still scared or unsure, because that would only mean he/she didn't train the track enough. Are there some slips here and there even before something like that drop, sure. But pros are used to that kind of situations and have hundreds of similar good outcomes on their shoulders.

Marine Cabirou Broke 3 Vertebrae at the Leogang DH World Cup
@BenPea: maybe not slower but to ride within their physical and psychological limits at a given day, without taking risks that are too big. Same goes for helmets and concussions. There is currently still no helmet technology that is scientifically and independently peer reviewed to prevent or reduce concussions. Best bet unfortunately is to ride within one's abilities and only take very calculated risks.

21 World Cup Riders' Race Bikes from the British National DH at Fort William
Some kind of linear potentiometer, it 'measures' how far the suspension traveled and it can be shown on a laptop, etc for further evaluation what could be optimized in the suspension settings. There are some manufacturers but every decent engineer should be able to build something like that.
