Just 30 minutes north of Atlanta, you’ll find Big Creek Park in Roswell, GA where freeriding has been happening since the late 90’s. Five years ago, the local SORBA chapter, RAMBO (Roswell-Alpharetta MTB Org.), started a mini, six-stage enduro event that gives racers the format, fun, and excitement of the big races, but on a more approachable scale. 100% of the race proceeds go back into the trails to build new features and skills programs. This year’s Big Creek Quick Six Enduro sold out weeks in advance, no doubt thanks to the massive swag and raffle prizes thanks to event sponsors and high-quality timing by the 3rd Coast Productions crew.
The Quick Six is more than just six timed stages. It’s a full day of riding, heckling, cheering, and great times on the trails with friends. The vibe is unique for races like this, as it forgoes the high-pressure pro classes and purses, massive scale, and is really just a day of Shred. Chill. Repeat. The race courses are comprised of one-time-only trail sections mixed with existing ones, so it keeps locals on their toes and gives non-locals a fighting chance. Plus each year trail routes are different, so there’s always a new challenge.
