Do your homework, cause you are the next generation of bike engineers
I'm doing mech and aero, I can't really specialize in anything because of that because there only a few certain courses that cover both diciplines. Learn as much as you can about composites I would say. That and take a look at job listings for bike companies and see what they're looking for and tailor your classes towards that.
the bear claw said "if you're not crashing you're not pushing yourself" Steve Smith said "if you feel like you're in complete control, you're not riding fast enough" Words to live by I say
Unfortunately those words to live by have cost me 3 broken legs in 4 years...I need to find another sport or slow down just a little. But it's just too damn fun.
@RRMonster Thats what I was thinking. I had to work up the courage to hit those for about a year and then it still took me months before I work through that line with confidence. He probably just showed up and though, oh hey look a few jumps, lets shred these up for a bit.
Two thoughts! 1.(not to be an ass) he was in the second part of the video! 2. I think a lot of people ride DH rigs on trails where they may be able to get away with riding an AM bike because of the different feel/ride of the bikes. I know for a fact that I feel a lot more comfortable/secure/confident at high speeds when I'm on a DH bike even though the trail may not warrant a beefier bike.
I've ridden where the first section of the video was filmed and while you don't necessarily need the downhill bike, it's definitely better. You can ride faster, and more speed equates to more fun.
Banshee bikes are so great. I got a Spitfire last year and I love it so much, it's so playful and efficient. A friend of mine's got the 29er Prime; tested once: never rode so fast and so aggressively I think. I'm now interested in the 29er Phantom; a wonderful machine, like all Banshee's bikes actually. Thanks to Banshee for developing such good frames. I think I'm gonna stick to your brand for quite a long time Cheers from France!!!
"If you aren't crashing, you aren't riding hard enough!" - someone probably
