Mick Hannah, unafraid to boost anything, anywhere.

The atmosphere in the pits was chill today as racers took turns loading into lorries for a crack at taming the Beast of Bright before timed seeding runs begin tomorrow morning. School was in session on course. Dry conditions and steep tracks opened up wheel-swallowing bomb holes and coated both riders and photogs with fine, golden talc - with extra helpings served to the unlucky ones who did not manage to keep the rubber side down.

why ? its just another grody kona , waiting to snap
  • 1 0
What Konas have snapped? If anything comes to mind with Kona it's crude durability.

i know two people who have snapped carbon operators , and my buddy also snapped an alu one from a few yrs ago , remember how bender got off kona cuz he broke too many ? and why andreu only was on kons for , what was it a year i think ? mby 2
  • 13 0
You are terribly misinformed, Josh. Bender was riding when I started tracking the sport... 13 years ago, (you were still in diapers), and I don't recall him riding anything but Karpiel. Andreu was also with Kona for at least 2 or 3 year there, and he didnt leave due to broken frames.
  • 4 1
Pretty sure I've seen more demos break than konas in the last couple years
  • 2 0
i deffinately not vouching for demos either
  • 2 1
I've never seen a broken Demo either. And those are the two most fun bikes I've ridden.
  • 1 0
I have a buddy that's broken two. I work for a huge specialized dealer so I guess that might be why. To be fair though, with how many bikes we sell I see a pretty even rate of cracks and assorted problems.
  • 2 0
 Cracking photos @kaneophoto excellent panning

Connor puts the fear on! Take 1 for Team Kona. Good luck!
