According to an article published in Bicycle Retailer and Industry News
, Canyon will delay its entry into the US market until Fall of 2017. The reasons appear to be two-fold: that Canyon is running behind in establishing its warehouse and corporate headquarters; and also, says Frank Aldorf, Canyon's chief brand officer: "We want to be here with the latest products and we think it's better if we move it further out so we can offer the latest. We'll have a slight delay here, maybe a couple of months, but we'll offer model year 2018 product."
Canyon originally said that the German direct-to-market brand would be opening for business for model year 2017. The Canyon brand is extremely popular within the Pinkbike community, and the announcement means a longer wait for the possibility to ride before buying and also, to experience one of the sport's more mature direct-sales models in the high-end mountain bike arena.
