Sarrou stands 180cm tall, but prefers the medium-sized Lynx Race for its more agile handling.

BH Linx Race 2018
Frenchman Jordan Sarrou destroyed his cross-country opponents on his way to winning the World Cup XC series in 2014 as a U23 competitor. With French racers on the rise in every mountain bike discipline, the BH Suntour KMC rider may be on his way back to the podium at the highest level of the sport. Sarrou will be racing his dual-suspension machine at Val di Sole, the BH Lynx Race, which is a new, 2018 model for the Spanish bike maker. The VDS cross-country circuit has been criticized by some as lacking the technically challenging features that have recently transformed the genre,so Sarrou may be taking a risk. The gravel-road climbs here favor the advantage that rigid frames offer when crushing tall gears out of the saddle. Conversely, however, the Frenchman's choice could turn the tide later in the race, using energy saved over Val di Sole's high-speed rock gardens to deliver the goods in the final laps. We shall see.

BH Linx Race 2018
With their conspicuous presence on the pro road racing tour, BH is no stranger to carbon. Carbon, beautiful carbon, everywhere.

SR Suntour's dual-remote locks out shock and fork with a single push.
BH Linx Race 2018
Beautifully machined lockout control allows access to the low-speed compression dial.

BH Linx Race 2018
SR Suntour's Axon fork has carbon sliders and a cable-remote lockout system. Sarrou runs 70psi in the air spring.

BH Linx Race 2018
BH employs Dave Weagle's split-pivot rear suspension design, which should make good use of its 100mm-travel rear end on the downs.

More carbon: Magura MT8 Race Lite brakes...

...Bolted to Mavic wheels.

Never thought I could call an xc bike sexy, but DAMN!!

Agreed. French blue kinda never gets old. Whether it's on a Le Mans car, a Renault Alpine A110, or a race bike, it's a fine, fine hue.

That's the bicycle world all over isn't it. 29 inch wheels on 100mm hubs etc. It's weird, but I quite like the history that's led to all the bizarreness.

A lot of pros use rotor cranks lately. Why is that? Sponsorship or preference? Just curious ..

Low stems are to keep the bars below the saddle, because XC races are won or lost in the climbing sections.

Is it just me or does that look like a 10s cassette?

19 psi front and rear... on such a skinny tire!? Thought these guys would be running low 30's at least.
  • 1 0
 Kinda what I was thinking.

19 PSI aren't much in downhill, let alone XC racing...
  • 2 1
@ORTOGONAL555: smaller volume, higher pressure. 20psi for xc is pretty low and risk of puncture high.

Thats a really fast looking sled. If it had the top tube to seat tube cross member, it would be a Camber. They loook identical.

And the link being counter-rotating and mounted to the top tube instead of seat tube.

...And the split pivot rear end.

 ....And the dropped chainstay.
