@thenotoriousmic: Now I remember why I just buy GX builds and kinda just work with it. GX always seems to work pretty good and with transition bikes, the GX gets ULT level suspension and RSC brakes, so it's pretty nice. If I had a spur or something I would be X01 curious.

@m47h13u: I feel like people get off on telling people how good at breaking bike parts they are. Not trying to disagree about people's opinions, it just has been my experience that people seem to generally get along with deore build bikes. I started breaking/bending less bike parts the better I got at riding (talking DH) and I was riding faster, so I guess what I'm saying is maybe most broken parts are operator error. Sidenote, brakes on low end builds are always going to be the weakpoint.

@thenotoriousmic: Kaz seems to say that he likes deore over sub GX drivetrain models pretty frequently in the Pinkbike Podcast to be fair.

@juliuskliemmtb: totally. As a RS/Sram rider almost exclusively, (on a few bikes so I can swap parts) I was really blown away by deore shifting on a bike I demoed. I think it's just the perfect storm as others have said that gave Sram the inventory edge.

Video: Riding Sick New Jump Trails In Sun Peaks in Episode 2 of 'I Only Ride Park'
I honestly don't enjoy watching them ride because they are never just riding the trail. Every bump or berm gets slashed or roosted or nose bonked and it just isn't all that fun to watch. I'm sure it's fun to ride that way, but from a film perspective it just looks busy.

First Ride: The 2023 Santa Cruz Tallboy Gets Updated, Not Overhauled
@MattyRides: true. If I was looking for a SC I would be really stoked to have the downtube storage. Realistically though, rocky, transition, ect. You can buy the lower end builds and they come with better components for cheaper. I have an excellent SC retailer in my town but no way am I paying a ton more for a decent warranty, bearing replacement and a lame build spec. When I bought my GX spire for 6k I was a little skeptical, then I looked at the megatower and 6400 got me select+ suspension, code R brakes instead of transitions ult. Level suspension and code rsc. (Plus my favorite 210 dropper)
