Video: RockShox Trek Race Team | Vali Höll Wins Vallnord, Andorra in Episode 5 of 'Youth & Glory'

After four weeks between Round 3 and 4, the RockShox Trek Race Team had a heavy last couple of weeks with back-to-back races in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, and Vallnord, Andorra. Vali Höll, Jamie Edmondson, and Tegan Cruz were all faced with different emotions, challenges, and outcomes during Rounds 4 and 5 of World Cup DH.



The cards dealt to the team at Lenzerheide, Switzerland is a perfect example of the unknown outcomes that come with racing. The energy shifted for the team once they arrived in Vallnord, Andorra. Vali Höll claimed her first World Cup win, alongside her teammate Tegan Cruz who secured P3 for Junior Men. The young team is continuing to push the envelope within the World Cup circuit.


LENZERHEIDE, SWITZERLAND
ROUND 4

After four weeks off between Leogang and Lenzerheide, the crew reconvened in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, for Round 4 of World Cup DH. Vali Höll and Jamie Edmondson took to the Enduro World Series circuit, while Tegan spent a couple of weeks back home in Pemberton, British Columbia, Canada.


PRACTICE

Lenzerheide’s untamed, rocky track mixed with bike park features were very different than that of Leogang's track.


QUALIFICATIONS

Vali, Jamie, and Tegan all charged hard and laid down smooth, fast qualification runs.


RACE DAY

From mechanicals to crashes, the crew was dealt a tough hand on race day in Lenzerheide. Luckily, their sights were then set on Vallnord the following weekend.

VALLNORD, ANDORRA
ROUND 5

RockShox Trek Race Team athletes and staff had roughly 3 days in between rounds to rest, recover, and refocus before preparing for Round 5 in Vallnord, Andorra.


PRACTICE

With a very dry and loose track at Vallnord, it was anyone's game leading up to qualifications.


QUALIFICATIONS

Vali, Jamie, and Tegan were looking pinned and riding with purpose during qualifications. They all laid down fast and smooth runs leading despite the arid conditions on the track.


RACE DAY

Vali's grit and determination was rewarded ten-fold by landing her first World Cup victory of the 2022 season for Elite Women. Having had a significant crash in practice before her race run, and the weekend prior, she was feeling the after-effects both physically, mentally, and emotionally. ⁣⁣⁣Vali rode smart, clean, and pushed her limits.

As the second to last rider to drop, Tegan Cruz laid it down for the Junior Men securing his first 3rd place win of the season. Congrats, Vali and Tegan on your podium finishes!
