The Bike Configurator in action at London Cycle show last week.

The "Bike Configurator" is used to construct and order your ideal bike online. You can change the forks, wheels, tyres, in fact right down to how many carbon spacers you would like to fine tune your ride. All the frames are hand finished and assembled in the factory in Germany and shipped to your door, within 7 days!

Where do you start when you have a choice of almost any component for your bike? Well, Rose has that sorted with up to 8 builds on each frame at different price points. Below are a few of the highlights for 2011.

The Granite Chief (Starting at £1500)-

The Granite Chief

With an increase in travel from 140mm to 150mm over last years frame, the Granite Chief has got to be one of the most suitable trail bikes for the UK. When you include the 200grams shaved off of the frame and you can build up a bike equipped with SRAM X.9 components, a Fox 32 150mm Talas fork and RP23 rear shock at a feather weight 13.5kg (around 30lbs), and it will only cost you around £2000!

The Beef Cake (Starting at £1700)-

photo
The Beef Cake

180mm - 200mm of travel depending on the shock you spec, choose your fork; Domain, Totem, Boxxer, 40 or single crown Fox 180mm and you're ready to go. Katy Curd rode the stock 2010 Rose Beef Cake DH at the World Cups last season and is looking forward to getting her new Beef Cake SL (a 33lb race version). You'll see our Flow team riding these purple frames next year, well, you might but then they'll overtake you!

Mr Ride 29" (Starting at £1100)-

Mr Ride 29

If you haven't tried a 29" bike yet then what are you waiting for? With an increased wheel size you'll find that you roll over bumps with ease and climbing becomes a pleasure! The Mr Ride is Rose's first 29" frame and they start at £1100, (around £1400 with pictured spec). We can't wait to get ours out in the mud and go for some epic XC "training" rides!

Everyone always gets neg'd for saying a bike resembles the look of another, but I'll say it anyway. I immediately thought of a BR when I saw it. Cool looking bikes though, huge line up as well. Over 90 models!

"You'll see our Flow team riding these purple frames next year, well, you might but then they'll overtake you!"

so now i can see behind me while im riding but not in front of me?

@Demon-250 Looks kinda like the bottle rocket except it has a Horst link instead of faux bar and way more travel, so really they aren't the same.
  • 2 1
I realize this; no where in my post did I say it was a replica of the BR. It simply reminded me of the BR when I looked at it.
  • 3 0
maybe it IS a br. the conspiracy has been born!
  • 2 2
 Haro X-7?
  • 3 0
It's obviously a DW Link like an iron horse, except the DW link is super long and the chain stay is super short and they put the drop out on the chain stay and changed the shock placement and put a link in to push the shock with the chain stay and made the rear triangle pivoted not fixed.

See, just like an iron horse. tup

 Haro X-7 FTW lol
  • 1 0
 but not...
  • 2 0
that guy looks kinda like a bald chris pontius
  • 1 0
Well just sayin, correct me if im retarded but its pretty similar to the blindside, not the bottlerocket. even the shock is attached in the exact same place. take a look. www.transitionbikes.com/Bikes_Blindside.cfm
  • 1 0
True, I didn't realize they had moved the shock mount on the Blindside. I only remembered the first gen Blindsides with the mount right up in the headtube.

Like so: transitionbikes.com/2007/images/Blindside_WebLarge.jpg
  • 1 0
well seeing as the pivot is on the chain stay, it would basically be a FSR design. Transition's rear pivot is on the seat stay, making it an effective single pivot...

Thanks tips. No one knew that.

the most i like is the VW pickup ;D
  • 1 0
i quite like the idea of the beefcake. it's essentially a mid-travel FR biek that has been adapted to take dual crowns and a 200mm shock. This way, there's less weight, it looks quite flickable and fun, while still having the travel and being able to plow like a DH bike. nicely done.

not to keen on Rose bikes any more, after there bad attitude at the london bike show. they couldnt be bothered to answer any questions I had, its such a pity because i was seriously considering buying one.....
  • 5 1
Sorry if we weren't able to answer all your questions at the show, it was a very busy 5days! If there is anything we can help with feel free to send us a message!
  • 3 0
a busy five days?? so was everybody else but they answered questions, thats what the show is about isnt it, only the Thursday is for the trade.
  • 3 1
C'mon! Do you really think they didn't want to answer your questions? You can't please everybody; especially when they're so special....
  • 1 0
By the way any U.S. distributors yet?
  • 3 0
whats the point of even going to a show if potential clients cant ask questions about an up and coming product. for people who are looking for a cheap thrill I would consider looking at Canyon bikes or YT industries , they both good value for money and got a good customer service..
  • 1 0
I have a feeling that Specialized may have a problem with these being sold in the USA - a la Scott Genius and Giant's NRS.
  • 3 0
has anyone notice whats on the top of the computer at the first picture??? dildos?
  • 3 0
They're banana guards Smile although one guys wife asked where the batteries went!!
  • 1 0
Beef cake is just a great ride a friend has one .... but pinkbike y do you choose a picture only with the limited version of the beef cake? The normal version is black with golden letters.
  • 1 0
The photo is of one of the demo models of the 2011 BeefCake. The bike should be available in Purple/White, Orange/White and Black.
  • 2 0
I rode the beefcake yesterday when fin was showing the demo's. they are fantastic, smooth, planted, gather speed like a rocket, and just all orund brilliant!
  • 2 0
you look like a transition knockoff.....im fairly certain these are nicer than transistions.......has anyone seen the uncle jimbo......mmmmmm Razz
  • 2 0
They look great, they appear to be made in retro style with simple coloring. I like it
  • 1 0
I just checked out their DJ bikes on the website and they looked sick! I've never heard of this company before but they seem to build some nice bikes.
  • 3 0
Transition bottle rocket is the same desighn
  • 1 0
Pretty close but not quite, check put the rear pivots(I think) and the geo is a little off.
  • 3 0
ya it is ... beef cake = blindside
  • 1 0
Come off it, the geo is way out. BR was not designed to take 180-200mm travel this is a freeride bike, the BR is a short travel f/r bike. It looks similar, but its no way the same.
  • 1 0
c ´mon, you know it differs in many ways, like geo, pivot placing etc. It looks similar just because of the clean design and straight, not bent tubes.
  • 2 0
that's a lot of bikes to build!

What is the suspension design? Single Pivot?
  • 1 0
what about having a look at the picture? The pivot placing is visible very well.
  • 1 0
 really?

it could be a horst link or single pivot depending on if the link in front of the rear axle is actually a pivot, or if there is only a pivot at the BB and shock.

or am I missing something....
  • 1 0
That's exactly what I was thinking. I'll PM a link with photos of the other side.
  • 1 0
You're right, it is a Horst link, not a single pivot.
  • 5 3
The phrase 'Jack of all trades, master of none' comes to mind.
  • 2 0
 damn that beef looks lean
  • 1 0
Everybody is saying these are all transition knockoffs, but they really look more like specialized stumpjumpers
  • 4 3
so much marketing hype going around these ugly coloured catalogue looking bikes on uk based sites and now on pb too Frown
  • 1 0
