So this is the track at race speed. Quite the difference to Claudio, even when I would take double the amount of Claudio to get down... if I managed to get down.
@alaric0108: And still.. Claudio is a damn good rider (even though he is far from pro level)... Track are even more difficult than they look in Claudios' previews
@Enduro-Shredders: Yeh Claudiois a very good rider and ex world cup racer, in fact he would probably beat most of the pros that do non world cup events.
Was I the only one feeling sick to my stomach watching that race run? How does he find those lines? Amazing. One wrong move and your done for sure. Such a high speed track.
@Maverickdh00: remember two years ago when he crossed the line and couldn't hold onto the bars? Funniest crash I've seen. Pure grit. And I think he got a top ten.
The fact that the podium guys are separated by 10th of a second and often less, on tracks like this is amazing. It really shows how precise and on the edge these guys have to be to win a WC these days. These guys are avoiding mistakes that us mere mortals wouldn't even register as a mistake. Humbling
Brendan sounds like he's huffing and puffing A LOT LESS than previous POV footage I remember seeing of him...
I know he's always at the forefront of getting shit for not being the most fit out of the top guys, but appears to me he's upped his game!
Best of luck to him, can't wait for the opening race this weekend!
Keep in mind that they were both using a lot of image stabilisation in those cameras (Brendan's was running well, Gaetan's was disgusting!) and Claudio's run didn't have any.
Dosent even feel like you're watching footage from the same course as Claudios preview, this felt like a standard "a-line" run and Cluadios felt like a friggin war! WC boys are confirmed sickos!
Brendan sets of at 07 seconds & crosses the line at 3:12 = a 3:05 run Geatan sets of at 02 seconds & crosses the line at 3:10 = a 3:08 run so brendog faster by 3 seconds
Interesting, because without reading your post beforehand I would have said that Geatan's run looked/felt the faster of the two... Both are still WAY above any skill level I have or ever did have.
Well this is a Track for Brendog, so smooth that run, don't think this track will have anything to do with wheel size, it will be the rider as always! She's tough in the dry, but in the wet argghgh, Brendog ftw go boi...
I(being a nerd) would love to see some of the figures these top pros put out. HR, VO2, lactate levels, power output etc stuff like that. Would be great to be able to see how fit these guys are. Some of the top roadie guys have started doing it and tbh they are incredible.
Best course preview ever from Brendog? Finally sharp, stabilised image and pointing up and ahead for a rider's view, not down 2' in front of the front wheel. What camera is he using and is he using a gimbal?
These are just embedded youtube videos, not a pinkbike specific video player. Which unfortunately suggests the problem is likely on your end of things (internet connection, isp throttling, etc).

And he is still a shredder!
Geatan sets of at 02 seconds & crosses the line at 3:10 = a 3:08 run
so brendog faster by 3 seconds
Both are still WAY above any skill level I have or ever did have.
