SILT MTB statement:

We are stoked to announce we will be supporting Propain Positive with wheels for the 2023 season and beyond! This is our first big step into the world of DH/ freeride and we couldn't be happier to support some of the most decorated riders in the world! The team will be running our new prototype wheels which we have been working on for some time now and they will be available in the next few months. Stay tuned! We’re stoked to have the opportunity to make one of the fastest teams even faster this season.

Team manager Phil Atwill has this to say:

We’re super excited to partner up with SILT for 2023 and beyond. Pretty cool to see the graft and love the fellas at the company put into their products. I’ve only had a few rides on the wheels but I have to say I’m impressed by how fast they roll.

Cheers
Phil

When you are out to lunch in Greece and you want a Greek Salad, do you just ask for 'salad'? ..Asking for a friend.
  • 6 0
You ask for a village salad and it comes with cheese, agourodomata if you don't want cheese. Greek yogurt however is just yogurt.

just ask for a χωριατικη σαλατα or just simply a horiatiki salata and your friend is good to go

Has anyone ridden silt wheels? The prices seem a little too good to be true.

Me and a friend ordered some early 2021, his arrived first, we did 3 bike park days and his rear wheel was completely done, wouldn't hold air anymore, so he swapped to DT rims and I ended up cancelling mine. The hubs were decent though

@MartyMcfly2810: Hi Marty, Dan here from SILT MTB. I'm incredibly sorry to hear this mate. Our range for 2023 has completely transformed and we'd love to try and get you back on board! Our carbon wheels are bombproof and one of our lads (Liam Moynihan) finished 2nd at the Megavalanche last year on the same Carbon AMs he’s been riding all year. For alloy, we've seriously beefed these up and we've a new patented alloy rim technology that's 10% stronger and 6% lighter than the same rim forging without the patented design. We'll have these with us in a few weeks Marty and keep an eye on our social for the release! Give me a shout on team@siltmtb.com if you would like any more information.

@SILTMTB: thanks for the reply, ill keep eye out. i wouldn't be averse to trying them again, like i said, the hubs were nice, seemed well made and rolled fast. and if the rims have updated then its a winner for the money really

@SILTMTB: will the new wheels still have 10° engagement or will there also be changes to the hub? Thanks!

 @hardtailpunter: the new wheels will have the option of 36T 10⁰ & 54T 6.6⁰

I've got a set. They are very nice and light. Bit more stiff and pingy than the set of ex511i was running, but nothing too drastic and well worth the weight saving if you're pedaling unassisted. Can't comment on durability as mine aren't even nine months old yet.

@SILTMTB: I know its not the most important detail, but just curious where you guys manufacture your wheels and where they get assembled?

@kyleluvsdh: Yes! The team will be running them first and we should have them out this summer!

@Takaya94: All our product is manufactured in Taiwan and the majority of the wheels are built by us in Northern Ireland, the new range will be hand built by us.

Hey @danielfloyd, We have always had one goal and that's to be the best pound for pound wheels on the market, and none beats us for the level of technology you get with our wheels. We have been in the industry for a longgg time with other brands and have brought all our knowledge and experience into creating SILT.
