Whistler Bike Park: Trail Engaged, Episode Three - Video
@Andrewlunka: Correct. We have the water to support a limited amount of trails. Hoses, people, access, water supply and the amount of traffic on certain trails. This isn't to mention the dry conditions. This means watering down of the forest in any area that is prone to fires. Chainsaws, machinery, picks and axes sparking off rocks. Trust me, it happens easy. We have to be careful. Joyride is separate to the bike park so they operate on their own. This season has been hard on everyone including the staff. We still have the best park in the World and it'll stay that way. Let's get some rain!

Wow, I can't believe how much ignorance there is in these comments. You think you could do better than the guys busting their asses off 10 hours a day in the bugs and heat then maybe you should have applied for the job and then see what it's like to get torn down for bringing you the best park around. This guy you are paying out, is the guy that brought you most of what you love in the park and is dedicated to making it better. Yes the park cares and yes they are working damn hard. What you guys don't understand is that there is a code for fire danger in BC right now. Most days it's extreme. Even a spark from a pick can set off a fire so the crews are hard at work not only to build and maintain new trails but to prevent the mountain burning down. I know things can be improved but come on! Look at the bigger picture. We haven't had the moisture so deal with it. It's not the crew's fault.

@robaussie99: Last time I checked, you need people, hoses, enough water supply to run off snowmaking hydrants, soil that doesn't bead water when you spray it therefore flooding trails but not wetting down areas you want moisture....... Last time I checked....... When did you last check the hydrants?

It's not about knowing what's best for customers. It's about logistics, budgets, manpower, weather, traffic, etc. You really think WB tries to piss it's customers off?
