PRESS RELEASE: Sombrio Cartel

With Red Bull Rampage just around the corner, we are stoked to announce the release of a limited edition jersey collaboration between Sombrio Custom and Freeride athlete Reece Wallace – the same jersey that he’ll be wearing as he takes on Utah’s red rock playground.

We have been collaborating with our athletes on unique jersey graphics since the launch of our custom program in 2018, which gives riders the ability to use Sombrio jerseys as a blank canvas. “It’s always fun to see what our riders come up with” says Ashley Turk, Sombrio Global Marketing Manager. “Sometimes their vision is really simple and other times it’s totally out there and we love helping them bring it to life. When we sat down to talk about Reece’s kit for Rampage, we knew it was going to be a fun one and decided to produce a limited run.”

Wallace took advantage of our ability to fully customize artwork across each panel of the Chaos Longsleeve Jersey opting for a fully printed front, solid sleeves and a bright white back for contrast. Photo: Liam Wallace.

bigquotesI'm hyped to have my own signature jersey with Sombrio. The design matches my helmet for Rampage and stems from my love for flight with the digi-camo matching the Canadian Air Force's flight kits. It blends in with the forest and pops when I'm in the desert. Keeping it simple with a nod to Canada is what this was all about for me.Reece Wallace

White will not stay white. Mud/dirt really never comes out.
  • 15 0
Exactly, why would you put white on the back?!? Just make the whole thing the camo

@brncr6 I mean let’s talk about the “same camo at the airforce flight suits” but. That isn’t CADPAT nor are their flight suits any digicam they’re green.

@nojzilla: They are always the colours left in sale on Chainreaction too ha!
  • 1 1
@McArdle: mine are chinese Ebay copies paid like £12
  • 1 0
@bonfire: here here. Although CADPAT is trademarked they could at least try a little harder to make it look like it. And just like you said the flight suits are solid green not CADPAT.

We really needed an article about this ????

It's not an article, it's a press release

I love white- Said the French

I don't know European history - Said the American
France lost between 1 and 2 million soldiers in WW1 - that's more than the USA has ever lost in all their wars combined. That's not even including civilians. They were the first to experience the "Blitzkrieg". Had they decided to fight it out, Paris would have looked like Dresden or Warsaw. The NY twin towers would be a blip in terms of destruction compared.

Get yourself a passport and cross the ocean.

@frenchyroast: so what you’re saying is that they surrendered.

They should take a page from the #26aintdead crew.
  • 8 1
@frenchyroast: Not sure how a press release for a jersey has turned into a European history lesson but I'd say Poland experienced Blitzkrieg first.
  • 7 8
 @frenchyroast: chill bruh it’s a joke
  • 9 6
@preach: it's pretty tired though now isn't it?
  • 1 3
 @preach: are you sure?
  • 7 2
@kiksy: Yeah, many scholars agree with that even though the Blitzkrieg tactic goes back to 1918 or so. The poor Polish people then got attacked by the Soviets right after as well. Anyways, the WW's were a very horrible and complicated affair that I hope never happens again for eternity. The fact that most of us haven't had to live through a war is something that I give thanks to in this season.

The shirt should have camo on the back though.

@StanMarsh: I love the comments section. Pure gold!
Oh yeah, what the difference between a bit of of toast and a french man?
You can make a soldier out of toast .....
  • 1 1
Well, the French are still being joked by the same people they help to uprise with money (lots of it), guns and personnel. How ironic.

@t-stoff: the up votes speak for themself, sorry buddy.

Awesome design for the desert, where white is the colour of choice. Dust brushes off and best to save the trails when they are too wet to ride. Stay dry and dusty, come to the desert to ride. Nice picture of Reece "Wonderful" Wallace by super bro Liam. Ms. R says Hi from Wire Mesa trail in Hurricane.

As someone who doesn't ride in deserts, can you please explain why white is a good colour choice?

Does any body else see an angry ant walking on two legs and a tornado like, kind of cute little cloud, or is this sleep depravation kicking in ?

Love my Sombrio jersey. It's so comfortable I don't wear my others unless it's absolutely necessary. Won't buy this one though because of that white panel. They should have made it black.
  • 2 1
Sick of polyester riding jerseys, can you say static cling? Yes I use fabric softer, yes I try line drying them. Maybe it's the climate I live in, I don't know...

 Why I use Merino wool
  • 1 1
@motard5: Merino is great but expensive and not a lot choices either.
Patagonia Merino t shirts are $90..
  • 6 1
@Beez177: didn’t spend thousands on a bike to ride in $7 awful jerseys.

Ride in icebreaker merino t-shirts and their tencel range in summer. Expensive but so worth it.
  • 2 0
@Beez177: Check Costco: Cloudveil merino wool longsleeve: $25.99 (CAD)
  • 1 0
@Beez177: I hear you, but loads of brands have Merino and other natural blend shirts for fairly cheap now. Patagonia's cool trail capliene MTB gear is poly, but it does feel soft like cotton and doesnt cling...and is $45, cheaper on sale.

I'm thinking the white on the back is for less heat.

RC Air Force ought be flying their airplanes in that spiffy red jacket with the wide-brimmed hat and shiny boots. And a horse in the RIO position.
  • 2 0
All of Recce’s royalties on the jersey will be going to Jordie’s family. Big respect man.
  • 2 0
Wish it was jordie Lunn tree drop painting on the back. Maybe another version..
  • 2 0
 I really cannot understand...WHITE?!?!? really??
  • 3 0
I take it you haven't ridden a bike in the desert before...

Please please please make shoes again! The Loam is the best pair of shoes I've ever owned
