I bet it would cost less to build that intergalactic dirt-fighting robot than to buy one of these.
  • 85 5
They need the money to pay for lawyers to sue the next Transformers movie for copying their idea.
  • 27 13
@bigtim: Specialized lawyer jokes are so 2000s.
  • 47 0
Specialized took a Big Hit during the last court case..
  • 32 0
The CGI for this marketing added 1K to the frame tooling costs
  • 10 0
Now you know why the bike starts at $11k. They need funds to pay for this marketing gig.
  • 6 0
Also I guess when you sell 15k bikes you can afford to have Michael Bay direct your commercial lol
  • 2 0
Who else was hoping for some good old fashioned out of lip sync subtitles!?
  • 150 7
So the story is: Those e-bike riders tore up the trail angering the "Protector of all mountains" who wanted to chase them away. However- evil E-bikers brought there own mind-control robot to fight the 'Protector of all mountains" and even some nuclear super-juice to give him extra power. Evil-Bike-Robot destroys 'Protector of all mountains" and evil E-bikers can go on to "slay monster trails".

.. this should be a commercial for e-bikes?
  • 28 0
Kenevo Prime was sent from outer space to fight Rockroot... at the end, he says "Now you have the power to slay monster trails" and presents the e-bike. But the riders were already on e-bikes, so what did Kenevo actually do? Give their bikes a firmware update to unlock turbo-turbo mode or something?
  • 31 10
To be expected from a brand that names tires Eliminator and Butcher. When can we shift our perspective of mountain biking from concurring nature to existing with it?
  • 13 7
@ericbraapton: do you feel personally attacked by tyre names?
How does the Rocky Mountain Slayer make you feel? :,(
  • 6 5
Same thought here ... This video clearly shows how much this "bike" is not for REAL mountain biking people!!!... Big Grin
  • 6 1
e-bikes are invading the earth, oh no
  • 7 1
Yeah... Any flack Spec get for this ad is deserved.

When eMTB critics claim eBikes destroy trails, you're not going to win any hearts or minds making an ad were a giant eMTB powered robot *literately blows up a living mountain*.
  • 3 0
@fjopsys: It's subtle... But they actually were on different, regular mtb's before he shows up, then their bikes get "upgraded" to ebikes.
  • 1 0
 @font style="vertical-align: inherit;">font style="vertical-align: inherit;">recneps57 /font>/font>: you have a good eye
  • 1 0
@recneps57: Oh, that makes sense. I guess the message is to ditch your otherwise capable bike and get an e-bike so you can nuke a mountain?
  • 1 0
@ericbraapton: double entendre though they may be, they're actually named after specific trails...
  • 128 2
What the fook did I just watch?
  • 6 0
That was exactly what I was asking myself while watching this.
  • 11 0
I came here for this comment...
  • 9 10
I dont know what I watched but it was awesome.
  • 2 1
 @Garantson: Hahahaha! I agree !!!!!
  • 3 0
You're watching where all the fat margins Specialized make on their bikes goes to.
  • 104 0
If we’re talking Pokémon rules electric moves are useless against ground types so that finish move makes no sense
  • 4 0
 This needs more upvotes!
  • 1 0
 @Stenimir: agree LOL
  • 1 0
 My thought exactly.
  • 72 1
I found myself rooting for RockRoot...
  • 22 0
Tune in every Friday morning to see RockRoot fight back and win, along with appearances from other evils like AirCase and SailorDeath
  • 15 0
Isn't GaLactic Acid supposed to be Kenevo's one true enemy? And he teams up with LiveValve to fight Rokroot?
  • 10 0
RockRoot just needs to call in help from ArticBlast, then we'll see how long Kenevo's batteries last.
  • 5 0
Hoping rockroot would smash the price down sub 5 figure...

Rockroot>Specialized marketing Corp...
  • 56 3
You never fight the mountain. The mountain was here long before you and will be here long after you are gone. You're just a visitor.
  • 36 0
I agree, I think this should be the robot gently making love to the mountain.
  • 2 0
 Rockroot bats last
  • 1 0
@jdemeritt: I'd pay to see that, on OnlyFans.
  • 31 1
"Show of hands, anyone think that was cool?"
*One Hand goes up*
"Not you Elon, put your hand down, you don't count."
  • 1 0
I'm sorry this comment will never get the credit it deserves.
  • 29 2
Rockroot was just protecting the mountain from a lithium mine, so misunderstood...
  • 26 0
Missed opportunity, where is Megan Fox? YT industries can get Christopher Walken. come on specialized do better.
  • 17 3
didn't you notice? Emily Blunt was the woman on the bike
  • 2 0
Who needs Megan Fox when we have Emma Olofsson. I'd say she was a solid choice for the vid.
  • 23 1
That bit of riding at the 2ish minute mark, with the scrum over the rock, and the scrappy into the berm, that was cool. And that ribbon of trail from overhead, pretty sweet. Be good to one another
  • 4 1
Wouldn't want the marketing team's feelings to get hurt by telling the truth!
  • 16 1
Specialized marketing team needs to lay off the cocaine. I get that bikes are all basically the same and hard to advertise but for god's sake...
  • 17 1
 But Rockroots are our FRIENDS!
  • 16 1
I thought it was cool. It made my coffee break more fun.
  • 14 0
So from what I was shown in the video, the dude's Kenevo SL lost 97% battery power doing DOWNHILL? Did I miss the climb?
  • 2 0
they were climbing in slow motion for quite some time haha
  • 12 1
So e-bikes destroy trails? While I hope this is just a myth, it seems like a bit of an odd metaphor to emphasize given this has been a concern of ebike dissenters. I get that "slaying trails" is a common idiom...but to just smash a trail so literally... not sure about that. Maybe have the ebike fight a couch, an artificial knee, or a wallet?
  • 13 0
Says a lot about their target audience
  • 16 7
So what I took away is electric motors bikes tear up fragile trail . That doesn’t seem good for mountain biking, unless you profit from the sales of electric motors bikes.
  • 18 4
Machinery destroying the mountain...that's the message I took away as well. Maybe the Rock Monster isn't a monster. Maybe he's just pissed off that we keep finding new way to tear his shit up. Maybe we should be endeavoring to live with the Rock Monster. I bet the Rock Monster has a lot of insights.
  • 10 0
If we're talking Pokemon rules electric moves are useless against ground types so that finish move makes no sense.
  • 20 10
Why am I seeing this? I thought I turned on the "no e-bikes" filter.
  • 17 2
We did, Spec paid to bypass it.
  • 21 0
But did you turn on the 'No robots fighting dirt monster' filter? Probably your fault that you didn't.
  • 1 0
 @bigtim: damnit, you’re right
  • 7 0
Just watched The Mitchells vs. The Machines on Netflix the other evening with the kids for family movie night, can't help but think of it while watching this ad. "We should put a chip in everything!"
  • 8 0
What I really want to know is, what trail is that dirt slalom trail? Looks so fun....
  • 2 0
Looks like midway down Crankshaft, on the Peak to Pub descent, Cardrona Bike Park.
  • 9 4
they just spent 3 min showing you what they spend the extra ~$2500 this bike costs over a competitor.

"yo!? did you really spend $15,000 on that bike when you could have a similar bike and spec for $12,000???"

"yeah but....did you see the kick ass product launch video!????"
  • 2 0
I absolutely loved this video, but thought the same thing.
  • 5 0
Has Specialized checked their buildings for gas leaks........ or psilocybin in the water supply?

I'm not mad I watched this... just confused. When viewed alongside all of their recent release videos it makes me wonder what they have in their vending machines.
  • 8 0
It looks like a Halo soldier
  • 11 3
How come e-bikes are allowed to skid on trails?
  • 7 0
Haha, that's what I was thinking. Also, other than pros in videos, who spends most of their time with their foot on the ground and rear tire skidding? I know it looks cool, but who actually rides that way?
  • 3 0
Seriously, wtf is up with all the skids? Stay off our trails you joeys.
  • 8 0
 This industry needs an enema.
  • 5 1
so they make a bike with weaker batery so you will be forced to buy an spare batery in order to go for a longer ride ? what was supposed to be a lighter bike is in fact a bike that makes you carry a batery in your back pack.............. this is what i got from this this video.
so I would buy a very expensive bike, plus a spare batery, a bigger hidratation pack .... the earlier kenevo, from 2018 or 2017 at least was bouble crown, alloy, 180mm front and rear, only wasn´t a 29er, what for many people isn´t a bad thing at all.
What is the real improvment in this new one? in order to really justifie this price?
i bet its is a great bike to ride, as every bike in the market nowadays.
  • 1 2
Weight. Small batteries weigh less than big batteries.
  • 9 1
 Why is this happening?
  • 7 0
Where did the extra battery come from?
  • 17 0
 You don't wanna know.
  • 3 0
She had it in her downtube
  • 5 0
I found a leaked behind the scenes clip of specialized marketing team. Makes more sense now...

Seems to me that Rockroot is the good guy and technology is evil here.
As a nature lover, I’m on the side of Rockroot.
As a trail digger, wtf, you destroyed that trail, of course Rockroot is defending itself.
As a single speeder, hardened by pedaling my bike, I laugh at this pedal assist bike and its extra batteries.
As a customer with money, I see the bike industry is toxic and will destroy the earth for profit.
Maybe these lame bike brands should do something positive for the industry for once. Bunch of idiots.
  • 6 0
 Where the h3ll is Bumblebee?
  • 14 0
He's embarrassed as now the Kenevo is more expensive than him.
  • 11 5
 Hey Specialized! F off...
  • 1 0
 I agree
  • 7 2
watched this at school, principal walked in and i'm now typing this from the office
  • 7 1
If I caught one of my students watching a mountain bike launch video in class I'd pause the lesson and put the launch video up on the projector.
  • 6 1
Dentists everywhere be like Lord of the Rings, really just Hobbits.
  • 1 2
At least 20K worth of bikes for dentists here
  • 2 0
@zoobab2: Haha, you incorrectly pluralized bike.
  • 4 1
They really be paying Michael Bay to direct their release videos instead of fixing the cracking down-tubes on the enduro frame lmao
  • 4 0
Now I understand why the bike is like 15k$, gotta pay marketing for those ''Michael Bay'' style edits
  • 2 1
While I feel like buying a Marin San Quentin after watching Mark Mathews absolutely shred it; 3 minutes of plain and simple mtb in it's purest form... potential e-bike buyers get motivated by this freaked out stuff that just reduces riding time from the advert to supersede it with expensive stupid sh#%...I guess they're not so much into riding as me and that's why they buy e-bikes...
  • 4 2
I use to like Specialized bikes. I can no longer like Specialized. This calamity of an advertisement is the worst thing to happen to mountain biking since mountain biking began. Specialized you're dead to me. Yuck
  • 2 1
I'm really thinking to buy an ebike. On the flip side, I also really appreciated the guys who were cheering for me for riding my analog bike. "Kein Strom?" They face expression was priceless. Well, they surely were no thirsty but on the other hand I barely see any regular bikes in Vorarlberg, so can understand their awe. Smile
  • 1 0
Wow! So many delicate flowers in this thread. Don't take yourselves too seriously people. All these people whining about "destroying the trial" are the same ones who always love the bro'd out shred footage. Good grief! The bike looks awesome. The film is just plain good fun.
  • 7 2
 That's amusing as hell.
  • 3 0
The recent Specialized new bike launch videos have been great....this one jumped the shark. WTF????
  • 3 0
@Specialized but how does Kenevo fare against Godzilla and Kong?
ps.: was Emily Blunt the woman on the bike lol
  • 2 0
The dude definitely wasn't Jon Krasinski!
  • 3 0
I guess these riders don't need water?
Maybe the robot carries it for them.
  • 3 0
Power rangers with mountain bikes. They could have saved the money and made the bikes rrp cheaper.
  • 2 2
 S hold top place with their adv this year, it's like covid year was most productive for their R&D and Marketing department's;

All press releases are top! All bikes that being shown are in WANT category (Stumpjumper / EVO/ Kenevo);
  • 1 0
Can’t believe that DCA guy isnt all over this
Id love to here what kind if conspiracy theory he could come up with
On another note ,that chick was pretty hot
The bike was cool too but not 5 fig. cool
  • 1 0
DCA loves ebikes though so he'll have a bit of dissonance.

Also, that's Emma Olafsson (@mmurmaider) you're welcome.
  • 2 0
I like how even in their launch video they insinuate that you don't have enough power, or battery power to get the job done.
Shut up and pay me $22,000cad
  • 6 2
 Nope, don't like that.
  • 2 0
What happens when the Specialized guys in lockdown been watching too much Iron Man and Transformers.
  • 7 4
Electric, rock fighting robot - how embarrassing.
  • 2 0
At first I thought it was weird, then it got weirder and weirder until it became awesome.
  • 2 0
Stupid Rock monster. It's easy to defeat this robot: just splash some water and he switches off!
  • 2 1
yuck...i don't get this hype beast consumer tech vibe I miss the days when I associated spezi to Claw spinning 3's of off north shore drops on his baby blue SX trail
  • 2 0
Can't clean a rock garden? With the new Kenevo SL, skip the practice and progression, and just electrocute it!
  • 4 5
this was cool. anything different and unique in this industry needs to be championed. good on ya Specialized way to keep changing it up, but how dare they not market to the same old group on PB, don't they know by NOT marketing to them they might actually grow the industry more....?
  • 3 2
hella haters in here. the video was pretty cool albeit a bit corny
  • 2 0
Rockroot should have just pressed that power button on Kenevo Prime's chest to turn him off.
  • 4 0
 Cringe level 9000
  • 3 1
Monster vs motor bikes, not bikes. F e bikes and every company that's selling out mountain biking.
  • 2 0
This has got to be the second best MTB advertising campaign I've ever seen!
  • 1 1
95% of legit mountianbikers are poor. So 95% of the comments will be hate. These bikes are bad ass for us retired but still not fat dudes. And the occasional rich person that will use it to get to the end of his driveway.
  • 1 0
You'd think with how much my carbon strider bike cost.... They could have at least tossed some coin to thr CGI guy.... I expected more from the big S.....
  • 1 0
Cool, power rangers type video...I liked the pink ranger the best. Not much more to say. Prob be cheaper to buy the robot.
  • 2 1
lame as hell, but then again I also thought $3k was a huge amount of money to spend on a bike
  • 1 0
All ebike manufactures are occupied selling all their bargain Ebikes! Thank you Specialized
  • 3 1
Lol. Buy an e bike and you too can destroy the planet...?
  • 2 0
Action Figure Man. Episode, "How to Buy Action Figure Man."
  • 5 2
 No. Just no.
  • 3 1
Electric steel machine destroying the nature. Great message, I guess.
  • 2 0
Kenovo SL also slays your wallet
  • 2 0
Entertaining. Hope nobody swallows one of those batteries.
  • 2 0
I liked when the rock dude punched 'em in the face
  • 2 0
Rock Roach must be from Phoenix with all that dust in his lungs.
  • 3 2
Specialized... Seriously, GAGF. ...and stop showing munters skidding through corners FFS
  • 1 0
That sure sounded like Peter Cullen at first, but then it just sounds like a poor impersonation at the end.
  • 1 0
Well I guess I know why they are asking 11K & 15K for the Kenevo SL, someone has to pay the marketing team.
  • 1 0
$23,000 in Australia. I guess I wont be slaying any monster trails this lifetime
  • 2 0
This spot is aiming on the proud owners of a Playstation3.
  • 2 0
Cody Kelly looking fit right now!
  • 1 0
They really just took Optimus Prime from Transformers and slapped a bit of Halo's Master Chief on him and called it a day.
  • 1 0
Looks like Master Chief from Halo vs a Cyber Demon from Doom or should I say the budget versions.
  • 9 7
 Wank
  • 13 0
If that's the kind of video that gets you off then who are we to judge.
  • 1 0
Got to pay for the Van refurb.
  • 1 0
 Master Chief?? Is that you??
  • 2 0
 that's fucking dope
  • 4 2
 Ridiculous
  • 1 0
Master chef back at it again
  • 3 1
 Heavy sigh
  • 1 0
Is that Bruni as Kenevo prime ?!
  • 4 5
Only accuracy in this entire video- all Kenevo riders have a shitty sleeve of tattoos to match the wanna be Moto vibe of the bike.
  • 2 0
How dare you? You obviously don't know a good looking woman when you see one.
  • 1 0
Shitting on people for having tattoos lol. Not sure that theory holds up though as she's not really a "kenevo rider" outside of this ad. She also shreds pretty hard. And you'll probably crap yourself when you learn the sleeve is just the tip of it haha.
  • 1 0
15 mil euros bike for a 1000 euros presentation video
  • 1 0
I thought Specialized was a bike company?
  • 2 3
Ya'll get a special on haterade somewhere? More hate in this comment thread than the h8ers ball. Keep h8n, the rest of us will keep shining.
  • 2 0
 dafuq was that?
  • 1 0
I like her tee shirt. Retro!
  • 1 0
I really enjoyed the show but I still won't buy the bike.
  • 1 0
They made that silly commercial just to rile you all up!
  • 1 0
Wow 2:04 was quite the move !
  • 1 0
do they have a clutch lever yet so you can modulate the overrun?
  • 2 0
 I feel violated
  • 2 0
 #notmysport
  • 1 0

Looks like NZ.
  • 1 0
My god, this is so stupid....
  • 1 0
 ROAR
  • 1 0
 errrrr what?
  • 1 1
