Day One Randoms - Sea Otter 2016
Was thinking this the other day - where is the unwritten law that SPD shoes get lace protectors but flats get none. Surely they both have laces that are equally likely to come undone and get caught in the drive train?

Wow - where to start? I guess if you are making a show for 15 year old gnareanderthals with the attention span of a flea and a chip on their shoulder then its job done eh?

That said, Anthill you have my money and I will watch it more than once (some of the shots are off the hook). Just can't help but feel a tad short changed..... Someone needs to make another 3 minute gaps - Behind the scenes of a WC season. Following a Factory team, privateer and maybe someone in the middle (syndicate? :) ). Get your RED cams in there and super slo mo the shit out of racing action (legitimate) Back it up with interviews, behind the scenes footage and the Redbull live feed stuff and you have an awesome MTB film that will not only get our attention (and £) but more importantly that of the general public ($£$£$). I would make it myself but I'm too busy being an internet film expert......

My bad I forgot about that - more sports doc than MTB film but you are totally right. The key is you should be able to show it to someone that has very little interest in MTB (without constantly having to make excuses for the content) And it should hold their attention all the way through. Don't get me wrong I love watching a well put together "edit" (I hate using that word as its a verb not a noun - but films they are not so I guess it fits) as much as any one. I just think most efforts miss the mark and leave you cold. The saying "you can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter" comes to mind

Yup - my reaction too. Pretty weak, nice camera work but really incoherant as a film. Just a bunch of Edits strung together with some really tenuous links (yawn uneccesary slo mo) Reminded me a bit of the snowboard dvd "green" from years ago. Seems to be par for the course these days. The last MTB film I saw that can actually be called film is Where the trail Ends... and that was a documentary. Builder was the same deal, just a missed opportunity for all involved. Lets hope WTTE 2 can break the mould... Bring on the neg props kids - but you know its true

Weird though it may seem - I think the trails may actually be in need a bit of rain
