This is a line I found down through some mystical waterfalls while ripping around with friends on motos after the Taxco Urban race in Mexico this year. It's steeper and more technical than it looks here and I wasn't sure I would be able to find the traction to keep myself from sliding down the slippery exposed rocks and getting sent over the falls, let alone get permission to try it from the steely eyed locals. But it is Mexico and it all worked out. I approached the makeshift taqueria to ask who to talk to about trying to ride down on my bicycle and was greeted with a Hi Cris and a smile. I was shocked to learn that these families way up in the remote mountains were huge fans of the annual race down the streets of their beloved Taxco. One of the guys remembered my buddy Jeremy and I building the track the first year we came down for it and before long the Victorias were clinging. It was a day and a place I'll never forget. Somehow I was able to stay in my pedals, splashing and sliding all the way bottom on my first run feet up which surprised the hell out of me. All of a sudden I stopped playing into the exposure and solid rock consequences and it was a hell of a fun run despite being so slippery (as I demonstrate at the bottom when I let my guard down and end up face first in the pool). We ended up losing a drone down a 50 meter cascade trying to shoot a tricky little piece for the contest, but it certainly could have turned out worse. I will be back for that one when I get my hands on a Karma because the reveal flying off towards the plumes of the towering Popo volcano are pure Mexican Magic. Days like this can happen every day down here if you let them, especially on a fast motorcycle. Gracias Mexico!
