Opinion: Five Things The Bike Industry Could Do Better
There are so many cheap, good bikes out there. The issue is that y'all are suckers who must have the latest and the greatest and that think that 1 degree head angle to either side makes a difference. Or that you "need" a certain type of jersey to look cool. MTB is only as expensive as you make it.

No one mentioned mouth guards.
They prevent expensive dental work, and concussions as well. A friend had a concussion from falling backwards during a manual and hitting his tail bone. Clenching his teeth, the shock traveled to his brain. You can get custom ones at your dentist, or just go to Walmart and get the Wilson brand ones for $1 that you boil. The custom ones made by glidewell labs have different levels of protection and actually mention they are rated for MTB. I wear mine MTB, snowboarding and even surfing when the waves have some size.

And your name says it all. Best car ever, best year. An antithesis to the craziness going on with people driving $80k 4wd mall crawlers, lugging bikes they can't ride to their full potential (5in of travel because the trail is "rooty") and trying to speak like California surfers - in Cary NC.

Go ride MTB in Mexico or any 3rd world country and you'll see locals with outdated equipment, or just thankful to have anything remotely decent to ride. That will be America post stimulus and money printing fest in a few years. The USA you knew is over. A new normal is here and if you want to see our future go take a trip and ride with locals in Latin America. Do it while you can afford to travel by the way.

Tech Week 2023: Crankbrothers Release 25 Year Anniversary Collection
SPDs don't need a warranty. Saying CB has a good warranty is like saying Hyundai Elantras had a 10 year warranty in the 90s. I don't want my stuff to need a warranty.
