10 Tips for a Stronger, Less Injured Rider

Dec 3, 2014 at 15:17
by Jackie Swider
There's been a lot of riders with injuries lately, myself included, who are both broken and healed. While this is a hot topic, I would like to encourage ten ways to decrease chance of injury while improving as an overall rider.

1. Weight training
2. Gymnastics
3. Yoga
4. Full body heat therapy (sauna/whirlpool)
5. Good, strong diet with lots of vitamins and minerals
6. Road biking
7. Physio/acupuncture/chiropracter/massage
8. Cross-training (swim, SUP, climb, slack line)
9. Bike skills clinic
10. Coaching

May any of these ideas be exciting to add on to any rider's lifestyle, and always, stay tough.

That picks form fontana. Although, the shrubs are never really green though.

And I think coaching should be #1. If you don't know how to lift you could seriously hurt something. And it could be a permanent thing too if it's bad enough. Plus, who would like a little yoga coaching from a hot girl.

Such a relevant topic...all good ideas! And gnarly crash pic! I remember that one, can't believe you were all right after that!

Gymnastics gyms have bars and foam pits. They have trampolines too to practice IFHT ski grabs or spins.
