Contested on possibly the biggest and most dangerous BMX dirt jumps in the world, Dew Tour Champion Cam White has created a truly spectacular action sports event on his outback Australian property. The Milwaukee Hillside Dirtjam is a private contest for riders and friends, designed to progress the sport and show fans where BMX dirt came from, and where it is headed.
After riding BMX and building jumps for over 20 years and then switching to a 26 dirt jumper now that I'm old I still think 20" is better for dirt jumps and skateparks. 20" guys rule and mostly have more style too.
I think it depends on the rider- Mikey Aitken, Chris Doyle, Matt Priest on BMX or Fairclough/ Andreu/ Jimmy Pratt on MTB, Bubba or McGrath on MTX. Style translates across every sport. You've either got it or you haven't.
yes there are definitly different styles across the board. like chase hawk has style. period. andreu lacondeguy also has some pretty major style. also period. theyre different but i cant say bmxers have more
I see what he's saying and while style is completely subjective, I have to agree with him. I think BMXers as a whole just look better on dirt jumps... except a dumped or corked 3, those look immaculate on a mtb.
Your trails have to be perfecly smooth and packed when riding a bmx though, which would be a PITA at our local sandy spot for instance. I also think most tricks look more dramatic on mtb because of the size of the bike. Style then is mostly down to the rider.
i agree and disagree. bmx is better for the steep and deeps among many other things but you can see the riders style wayy better on the bigger bikes imo
Holy cow. Hucker is amazing- the bar hump 3 staring down the lens was ridiculous. The camera work in this is pretty epic too. Hell I'm gonna watch it again.
26 inch riders why you hate on 20 inch so bad holy shit. I have friends in both and we all appreciate each other. Don't be that guy putting down a sport because of their wheel size
BMX dirt is headed to grown up bikes. This is BMX trying to keep up to us now. This riding was totally beast (bonus beasties for that clifflip), but it's unfortunately just nipping at the heels of what's possible on a biggie.
Nah BMX is way ahead of DJ in tricks, but you can't be comparing them, you could argue BMX is smaller and easier to do spins and shit but as someone who rides both I find it easier to ride DJ but who cares it's not about who's ahead of who just ride
Then I realized it was in Australia
