On a dark and gloomy Monday, Conor Macfarlane and Ed Masters set about breaking the existing record for the most runs in a day at Skyline MTB Park in Queenstown. With rumors of proposed Jump trail floating around town, the boys took it upon themselves to raise a bit of money for the project whilst lapping it out.
With Vertigo Bikes, JL Suspension, Outside Sports and Fear Factory on board as sponsors, they set out to do the unthinkable...
14 Bananas, 12 Muesli Bars, 2 bags of Lollies, 3 piss stops, 1 Broken Derailleur, 2 broken spokes, 4 sore elbows, 2 lifetimes of Arthritus, 200km of descending, 5 summits of Mt Everest, 10 hours riding, 132874 vertical feet.
When everything was done and dusted the boys managed to punch out 45 laps each and took the QTMTB club one step closer to giving Queenstown its own A-line.
45 Laps:
25 x World Cup - Hobbit – Killerbee
10 x World Cup – Hobbit – Fantrail – Ratatat
3 x World Cup – Vertigo – Grundy – Fundy – Fantrail – Ratatat
3 x World Cup – Vertigo – Original – Diesel – Thundergoat
2 x World Cup – Vertigo – Thundergoat - Ratatat
1 x World Cup – Vertigo – Original – Jeremy’s – Thundergoat
1 x Lazy Vertigo – Vertigo – Original – Thundergoat – Ratatat
Big thanks to all the sponsors and people who donated on the day!

Multiple that by 45 runs is 20250 meters.
Multiple that by 3.28 and you get 66420 feet.
A good day, but half the vert claimed in the article.
