Mike Powell from The Powell Movement catches up with Darren Berrecloth and talks about BMX, his transition to mountain biking, what's next. The podcast ends with some great Inappropriate Questions with Freeride Entertainment's Derek Westerlund. You won't find The Claw on too many podcasts. Enjoy!!!

Yep, that was embarrassing. Darren won a lot of respect from me there, but won't be giving this podcast another second of my life.

Actually if you listen to Mike's other interviews his research is top notch. It's kinda crazy really. I enjoy his approach to interviews. Going through the whole history and actually asking real questions to get real answers instead of the company line. He also has interviews with Jill Kintner and Carson Storch. Although the one with Storch kinda sucks.

Couldn't take that guy seriously. Was he supposed to be a newbie to the MTB world? VitalMTB needs to conduct the interview. I know you can read this VITALMTB!

Interesting but true about the helmets. I wonder if the rise of helmet sponsorship from Red Bull, monster, etc has helped this. If you are being paid to have the logo on your helmet your going to wear it on photo shoots even if it don’t look “cool” on a bmx. It’s great that the mtb world all wear helmets, I can’t ride without one and thanks to the advancements of light weight full faces I put that one on more and more.

Not sure why this guy interviews like this. Its kind of uncomfortable. I remember he interviewed Cam McCaul once and asked if he ever thought he would watch one of his friends die at rampage or something along those lines. Why would you ever ask a question like that?

years ago i used to go ride my bmx in an unused traffic tunnel after work here in Vancouver (leeside for locals) One night i ran in to Darren down there. He was way better rider than i but we started riding together abit, driving around looking for wood and building ramps and such. This is before he started riding mountain bikes. One night i met him down there and to find that he had nailed a bunch of 2x4 together end to end to create a probably 20ft long pole and wrapped an extension cord around it. For whatever reason the only electrical outlet in the tunnel was mounted to the ceiling 20ft up. Logically his idea was to use the pole to plug in the extension cord so that we would have power for our tools. He told that after trying for a couple hours he finally got it plugged in only to find out that there was no power to that outlet. Everytime i drive by that tunnel i think of him walking around balancing that pole trying to line it up just right. thats determination in my book. He was a down to earth guy back then and sounds like he still is.

Sorry Bros but the time for eternal awareness is over and time for action is upon us. Awareness has been happening for decades. I hear Greece or California are nice this time of year. RIP
