Round Up: 6 Ways Mountain Bikers Use Tape to Keep Their Bikes (and Bodies) Fast
@Will-narayan: everybody wants domestic production autonomy and economic stability, and yet everytime some sort of tariff or trade sanction is placed to that end people cry foul and "racism" and stomp their feet at their favorite luxuries becoming more expensive. irritating really.

@Burningbird: lol ok so if we're going to argue about the semantics of a "ban" vs "restrictions" then you're right we're going to be here all day as you're choosing to argue over insignificant details. Bottom line, was there an effort to curb travel? Yes. Were those efforts met with condemnation and counter productive efforts by political opponents. Yes, I can provide contextual examples if you lack that ability to find them yourself. And my point being, is that if there was so much opposition to the small amount of action that you have deemed "not enough", then how were we supposed to do anything more? This has been the logical farce of the left since day one, claiming "TRUMP IS RACIST, DON'T AVOID CHINA TOWN GO OUT AND SHOP" to "He didn't do enough, the blood is on his hands". Like cmon, have a little awareness and integrity, that flip flopping is easy to see and was an obvious political machination that should have only duped the most gullible of the population. You really are going to have to do better than this. And Idk what the rest of that statement even means, so you're admitting that because of previous travel bans, that other people were less accepting of the Covid related ban because of his prior "racist" remarks? That's ridiculous, so you'll actively avoid sound governance because you object to prior handlings of completely unrelated scenarios? And then you're accusing me of lazy thinking? Cmon dude. https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/nancy-pelosi-visits-san-franciscos-chinatown/2240247/ (in the video she clearly encourages people to go out and not be deterred by Trumps alleged overreaction) https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/news/a-timeline-of-covid-19-travel-restrictions-throughout-2020/ss-BB1ccHXN#image=3 ( a timeline of the travel bans and their subsequent disapproval, and it's important to note that areas like California likely helped spread the disease by dismissing the legitimacy of its spread) And here is an example of people calling Trump Racist after taking actionable measures to protect American lives (https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/04/opinion/trump-travel-ban-nigeria.html). I can keep going all day, bub. you're being a textbook farmed thinker by the main stream media, you're so focused on some trivial moral victories you're literally believing lies and ignoring facts.

@Burningbird: lol I'm literally referencing a statement from earlier in the thread, I was assuming you had enough sense to know the reference without me needing to put the statement verbatim. Are you that thick?

@Burningbird: my point is that closing an entire country has a greater impact on containing a virus than "proper education". NZ was able to close off its borders and enforce covid regulations with much more efficacy, due to both it's population size and border control. Comparing them to countries that are 40x the size and 100x the pop numbers (totally pulling those #'s from nowhere) is as ignorant as it is disingenuous.

@mick06: lol you actually just proved my point btw, idk if you didn't notice? You're saying that I'd have an argument if USA shut its borders down, but my whole point was that it was NZs ability to effectively do so that saved them! And that what screwed larger countries like Canada and the USA was its large population, large land mass to control, and violent political opposition. LOL you're literally too stupid to insult buddy.

@Randomscruff: exactly, nobody is debating NZ handled it really well but to say that's all from "better education about health" is kind of patting yourself on the ass for nothing. the smaller the land mass and community, the easier enforcement is of public policy. it's really that simple. idk why so many people on this site absolutely buck at the sight of common sense.
