The TransCR is back for 2018. We are excited to move the TransCR to a brand new northern location. A new location means new trails and a truly blind racing experience for all participants. Remaining is the jungle adventure, chill camp vibes, and the authentic Costa Rican experience. The race takes place February 20–25, 2018, come ride an exotic location and experience Pura Vida!

Racers should expect varied terrain from steep loamy gnar to smooth jungle flow and the occasional high-speed back road. Stage lengths will vary from 4–15 minutes with three to four stages per day and a prologue on day one. Riders should be comfortable spending 3–6 hrs in the saddle with as much as 1,500m of climbing in one day. Transfers will be a mix of pedaling and shuttles to maximize daily descending. Costa Rica’s mountains are steep and unrelenting so solid technical riding skills are a must.

2018 TransCR Registration Opens Today

New this year, we are offering an extended play package. After the race, you'll have a chance to raft the famous Pacuare river and return to the site of the 2017 race. The following days will be spent shuttling and riding high jungle descents free of the pressure of the race clock. For more details, please check out our website.

Thinking about it? Just go. It was worth it last year. Go for the locals. Go for the trails and the riding. Go for the Tiny Dollars. Go for the new friends your gonna make. Trust me, just go.

You can see my videos from last year here youtu.be/_x3AXoVr9E0 to get a taste of the terrain. Wish I could afford to go again this year!

@OzMike: you gotta be ready for major pucker factor, gnarly long descents and major days in the saddle. It's a no mess around event but that being said, there was a HUGE difference in skills abilities and finishing times last year and everyone had fun.

Chucked my name in the hat. My bike might need up-speccing a bit if I go though.

I would love to do this if it was a multi day motorcycle enduro. Do you guys do that down in Costa Rica?
