Let's ride together with the world champion on his home trail! - Hmmmmmmm, but what do you do if he says that he actually wants to get some proper training and you're not exactly a XCO world champion yourself? Well, I found a solution. It was the first time ever that I was able to talk to Nino on the way up and he didn't have to wait for me at the top!

Every year i head down to stay with a friend in south wales to dig and to ride his trails. This year i wanted to try and capture what he has created on film. This is a fun edit showcasing what some of us can only dream of having on our doorstep. Thanks to those that helped out. During the early part of 2013, Ground Effect took on a project to extend to the Drac' Flat Track at Craigieburn Forest Park, an hour and a half west of Christchurch in the foothills of the Southern Alps, New Zealand. A bunch of Ground Effect staff and customers gathered for the weekend and crafted over 2km of fresh singletrack. It is outrageously good mountain biking in a stunning location.

After years of seeing imagery of the lush green trails from the Pacific Northwest have overwhelming influence on the media and culture of mountain biking, we decided it was time to go experience the rich, dark loam of the coastal regions for ourselves. So in the spring, we dusted off our trail bikes, packed up the rig and headed north to see what we could find.

Part 03 of Ultramontane's 6 part web series featuring winter riding in the Pacific Northwest. Connor & Derek continue work on an all mountain line. Winter seems to have taken a break here on the shore, in favor for brighter days with epic sunsets. Music: The Builder and the Butch - Golden and Green. Thanks to our supporters: Spicebox Whiskey, Mountain Equipment Co-op, Sombrio, Smith Optics.
