Vedder Mountain Bike Co. Film Night - Chilliwack

It's that time of year when we are getting spoiled with the best conditions for riding mountain bikes in BC, and here in the Fraser Valley this rings true far more than it does for many other areas. It is predicted to be another El Niño year, so for us mountain bikers this hopefully means amazing riding conditions throughout the next several months. It is also exciting for us at Vedder Mountain Bike Co. as we have been diligently working to turn our dream into reality, and the renovations are in full swing at our shop.

Before we officially open the doors to the new shop, we wanted to take an opportunity to welcome this fall weather and get you even more stoked for riding in the valley.Vedder Mountain Bike Co is pleased to announce that we have partnered with our outdoor brothers Mt. Waddington's Outdoors and the Fraser Valley Mountain Biker's Association to host a film night here in the valley.

We hand picked 2 films that are guaranteed to make you want to put the fun between your legs and hop on that ol' bike. As an added bonus, we are giving the proceeds back to the trails! It's really a win-win. Join us on October 29, 2015, at GW Graham in Chilliwack as we host a showing of Scott Secco's "Builder" and Graham Agassiz's "Ashes to Agassiz". Doors are open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00. Get your tickets at Mt. Waddington's Outdoors in Chilliwack for $12, or at the door for $15. Proceeds will go back to some epic trail projects.

"It’s been a journey, you could say. A real barnburner. A man at the top of his professional prowess, his mountain bike a natural extension of him, one of the best riders the sport has ever seen. But like all great heroes, adversity comes a knocking. For Graham Agassiz, a relatively benign descent—one he’s done a hundred times before—reached out with its wicked limb and smacked him down. Shoved a fat slice of humble pie in his kisser. With his neck broken and a career in jeopardy, the road back to the top is now lined with dangers and demons."

"Building a trail is both an art and a science. The best ones are aesthetic wonders, a stark line of dirt snaking through the most scenic bits of land, a mountain biker’s landscape painting brought to life. Unfortunately, there’s no specific formula for trail building – it takes years to master the alchemy of crafting flow. From your first shaky pedal strokes to the game-changing moves of the sport’s top pros, our sport is shaped by shovels and pick axes in an endless pursuit of the perfect ride. Builder tells the story of trail building, through the eyes of some of our sport’s best riders and most respected builders".
