IslaBike Beinn 24

$275 GBP
I'm selling this Islabike Beinn 24 as both my kids have outgrown it and moved on to bigger sizes. If you’re searching for Isla bikes you’ll know why parents want them for their kids, so I won’t repeat what’s already been said countless times about how good they are. These 24" wheel examples tend to be a little bit harder to come by as people often move their kids from a 20" wheel bike straight up to a 26" wheel biike. I didn't feel comfortable with my kids riding offroad/at trail centres on a 26" wheel bike that was a bit too big for them so took the plunge and bought the in between size. The bike's condition is good in my opinion; it has the usual minor paintwork scratches on it that kid's bikes collect over the years but no major marks (take a look in the photo's, you should be able to zoom in and have a good look) and is in good working order. I've upgraded the shifter on it because my kids struggled with the Grip Shift. Paddle shifters are much easier for children to use and IMO they only put GripShift on them because they're cheaper than paddle shifters. It also comes with metal pedals and proper offroad types for grip and comfort (a nice big Schwalbe Black Jack on the front and a Continental Explorer on the back) so it's ready to hit the trails. These are currently retailing for £549.99 on Isla Bikes website so I think £275.00 OVNO is sensible for it. Available for inspection and collection in the Ramsbottom area. Any questions, please fire them through. VC

Medium Singular Swift

$299 GBP
For Sale: My beloved Singular Swift. Last October I had an accident which resulted in a nasty knee injury. While I’m able to ride again, I’ve decided that riding my rigid Swift probably won’t be great for my long term cycling prospects no matter how much I love it, so I’ve decided to move it on and use the cash I get from it to upgrade my other (suspended ad geared) bike. It’s a mark 1 Swift in size medium. I’m 5’11” and run it with a 100mm stem for an old school feeling ride. The paint work has a few chips in it, but there are no dents in the frame. I’ve always used a torque wrench to set the bottom bracket up so as a result the BB shell is perfectly round. The frame will come with a relatively new XT MT800 bottom bracket (feels smooth), a Cane Creek S3 headset, Hope seat clamp, Easton EA70 seatpost, a Truvative T30 steam, and a 32 x 20 singlespeed chainring and sprocket, chain and singlespeed hub conversion shims. Available for inspection/collection in the Ramsbottom area. Any questions, please send them through. Chris

Help Prevent Injuries With These Stretches & Exercises
Thanks for the tips. As a 45 year old who been mountain biking for 27 years I know all about the chronic issues you talk about in your post. It's dawning on me that I NEED to do some cross training if I'm to continue riding in to the future without frequent reoccurring injuries.
