Thinkbike Whistler is being held from June 1-4, 2017 and one of the things we really take seriously is our food. We have been working hard to create a great event and as Napoleon once said, “An army marches on its stomach”.

Riders and exhibitors coming to Thinkbike Whistler will be treated to incredible lunches on Thursday, Friday and Saturday provided by Whistler Cooks, who will be dishing out great creations for both meat eaters and vegetarians at noon on those three days.

We asked our friends at Whistler Cooks a couple of questions about their reasons for getting involved with Thinkbike Whistler and here is their response.

Question 1. Why has Whistler Cooks gotten involved with Thinkbike and what is your company’s philosophy in regards to feeding active people?

Getting involved with Thinkbike raises our street cred with our mountain loving staff. We have a good chunk of the local, biking community on staff; these are the types of events they love to cater. We gotta give the team what they want... and I think they want to ogle bikes all day. Total win-win scenario.

We place high value in feeding the active people who attend events like Thinkbike. We love it because we get to show off the local meats and produce the Sea to Sky has to offer to people to truly appreciate it. Good clean eatin' - that's what we're all about! Unless, of course, there are brownies around (then we're hypocrites).

Question 2. Will we have options for non-meat people and what type of lunches should folks expect?

Absolutely! We always take care of our vegetarian buddies (one of Whistler Cooks' owners is vegetarian... it definitely isn't Grant). Our vegetarian guests will be enjoying hand-made falafel balls. As for the meat-eaters, we'll be giving you the whole, barbeque-sauce-covered farm over the course of a few days: jerk chicken, beef brisket and pulled pork.

Great answers to some simple questions and one of the reasons Thinkbike Whistler chose Whistler Cooks is because they do such a great job feeding 800 crazy hungry folks at BC Bike Race each year. Thinkbike Whistler owner, Grant Lamont has been working on BCBR for over 10 years dishing up the single track goods in Whistler for Stage 7.

Well, that’s the story for lunch each day and everyone at Thinkbike Whistler will be stoked to see our partners at Planet Foods in attendance with Honey Stinger products as well as Little Big Shots which is an all natural energy drink. Each day Thinkbike Whistler participants can grab a couple of gels or waffles along with an energy drink for out on the trails. We will also have on hand the best drinking water on earth of which riders can fill up with each ride as they head out on our great tours the leave each day at 10 am and 1 pm.

Thinkbike Whistler runs from June 1-4, 2017 and we look forward to seeing you here.
