Welcome to another season of beer league racing.
After an all-time opening couple of weeks in the Bike Park, the Phat Wednesday Race Series, presented by Kokanee, kicked off its 15th season in classic fashion.
The biggest race on the MTB calendar this week took riders down the popular intermediate trail B-Line as a strong warm up event for the season. Well over 200 racers took to the course, and with some new faces on hand to challenge the old guard, the pressure was on to see who could keep it smooth through the course and earn bragging rights on the GLC patio.
Perfect conditions, the dirt was fast but not too loose.

Full tuck. Full speed.
Cornering is key. Seth Sherlock and the rest of the Junior class showed us all how it's done.
Patroller and WMBP team rider James McSkimming getting in on the action.
Eyes on the prize. Once you drop in its all business.
Kovarik started the season strong, narrowing out Bas van Steenbergen by less than a second for the win.
The only racer that could be trusted to guard the beer.
Just like that, the sun sets on the first race of the year, but don't worry we are right back at it next week.
