Summer is in full swing here in Whistler! Last night we had our second
Phat Wednesday presented by Kokanee race. This weeks racers showed us their stuff as they flew down this weeks course: Upper Angry Pirate > Crabapple Turns > World Cup Single Track > Ho Chi Min. We were blessed by some final sunshine to keep the dirt swift. It was the perfect farewell the sunny days we enjoyed in the park this week.
With the young and the old, the usual's and the newcomers, the beer leaguers and the pros, you could say we had it all. And if you thought the racers were going fast...well then you should've seen the beer. So let's see the action...
It's a registration frenzy. Everyone wants a chance to strut their stuff.
Gettin' those last minute, pre-race gainz!
Channeling his inner Angry Pirate.
...and we're off!
Not to be underestimated, these juniors throw down!
Leaving nothing behind, these racers leave it all on mountain.
Stay low to the ground, make it down. Simple, right?
Duct tape fixes all, or at least that's what we like to think.
The final push. Every second counts.
Is it a race to the finish line, or is it a race to the GLC? You decide.
Results are in. Who's it gonna be?
Female Open podium. New week, same ladies.
Male Open podium.
