They don’t call it a classic for nothing! The Whistler Mountain Bike Park is proud to announce the 2nd annual Whistler Spring Classic Enduro on May 27-28, 2017. As the second stop on the six stop North American Enduro Tour (NAET) and also an Enduro World Series (EWS) Qualifier, the Whistler Spring Classic is not to be missed.

This year’s classic is a two-day affair, with three stages planned for both Saturday and Sunday. A $3,000 prize purse is up for grabs and with the Irish round of the Enduro World Series taking place that same weekend, the podium at the Spring Classic should be ripe for the taking for some of North America's best enduro racers. In addition to the cash and the sponsor prizing for the amateurs, the Whistler Classic will also serve as a “Last Chance Saloon” for riders who missed out on the opportunity to secure a spot in Whistler’s EWS Race, the Canadian Open Enduro presented by Specialized. Twenty spots will be available as wild cards to the big EWS show, as rewards for making the podium and as draw prizes for all.

Registration is now open for the Whistler Spring Classic and you have a chance to save a few dollars by signing up early!

Noah Catropa shows us what early season form should look like.

This season riders will be tested to the limits with a new two-day format. Not only will the longer race bring the cream of the crop to the top, but it will allow new racers to see a wider range of Whistler's world-renowned trails—so be prepared for long, steep and technical descents over both days. Racing in Whistler is not for the faint of heart—last year there was even fresh snow on the course!

In the past, the podium has been dominated by local rippers Yoann Barelli, Josh Carlson, Jesse Melamed and Miranda Miller, who are also regulars on the Enduro World Series. While they won't be able to attend this year, this leaves the top steps of the podium open for newcomers to make their mark.

With Josh Carlson away at the Emerald Enduro, who will claim the top spot in 2017?

In order to gain points at Enduro World Series Qualifier Events, you need to purchase an EMBTA memebrship, which can be done HERE.

Don't forget that the Early Bird Offer ends on February 28, so REGISTER NOW to guarantee the best rate!

I think Nick McLeod is going to take the W in this one. He's been on fire after being on that new Commencal.
