Will Olson Memorial Fund
Thank you, everybody, for your incredible kindness and sympathy... Will's family and I have been so moved by the outpouring of love and support we have received in the wake of Will's accident. He was a soul rider who loved being on his bike, and being part of this community, almost more than anything. I can't begin to tell you how many times he bored me to tears saying "Baby! Come see this [video clip, article, photo, gear] on pinkbike!" He would never believe he would one day be a subject of conversation on the site. Some people have posted some (completely fair) questions regarding his personal life, his family, and various other details. I wanted to offer that anyone is welcome to contact me to learn more about Will, there is also heaps of info and photos publicly available on FB - I would be happy to answer whatever questions I can. I also understand some of these sentiments - if Will hadn't been such a badass mountain biker, would his death have made such waves in the world? I can't say - I can only speak for my world, which will never be the same again. What I can say, is that despite the fact that Will and I have never been ones to publicize our personal or romantic lives, it has been an incredible source of joy to share Will with the world, actually. I can only hope that our story, heartbreaking as it is, can serve as a reminder to everyone to live life to the fullest, follow your passions, appreciate the shit out of everything that surrounds us, and love the one you're with - fully, completely, and proudly... Thank you again. Peace and love from Will's girl, Bonnie McDonald (bonnie_cbc@yahoo.com)

Will Olson, RIP
Dear Pinkbike Community - My name is Bonnie McDonald, I am Will Olson's girlfriend of the past 5 years. I signed on to Pinkbike today so I could thank all of you. The thoughts and words you have shared have been incredible, touching beyond compare. Thank you to all of those riders who were there to share this event, and Will's last days, with him. A profound thank you too to all of those who tried to save him... Will LOVED biking, loved Pinkbike, loved being part of this--your--community. It would FLOOR him to read these posts, and to see and hear the love and support this community is showing him. He was a humble guy... As devastated as I am, I know that Will died at the happiest time in his life. He was doing what he loved, at his favorite mountain (where we met), with exciting plans for the next chapter of our life following, just days away. When I spoke with him that morning, I could hear the smile in his voice. I hope you all ride on with the same joy, gratitude, and love in your hearts that I know was in Will's. Love and peace, Bonnie
