Tech Randoms: EWS Tweed Valley 2022
@CleanZine: thanks for feedback, I'll have to get a pair. Some very tight trees here too. I got real lucky with the last one I clipped - it was so rotten that it just exploded and made me look like Ironman... If only they all turned out like that

@donpinpon29: yesterday I didn't see a loop of thick greenbriar in shadows - caught hold of my 3rd knuckle and gave me a proper "WTF was that!?" OTB thrashing. Suddenly I had sentimental feelings for '90s bar ends with the long inward sweep. I wonder if Sam Hill style hand guards would help shrug vine/branch off better too

Santa Cruz 5010 Med I9 Hydra Pike Ultimate Code RSC

$4399 USD
2021 Santa Cruz 5010 Medium – Custom & virtually Immaculate – ridden twice – component color options. Grips only installed for green photo theme – will be changed to new ones (color choice below). Ridden 2x - easy XC rides by a novice who didn’t get into riding. Slight scuffing from shoes on crank arms and 2 nearly invisible dings are all I can find for blemishes on this perfect bike. Shifting, brakes, dropper, suspension all work flawlessly, wheels perfectly true/ zero dings. Any significant blemishes in photos are either funny light, dust, or imperfections in frame wrap, except the 2mm one shown in close-up of seatstay. All current generation 2021 components but for the saddle: Industry Nine Hydra 690 POE Hubs Industry Nine Enduro S 30.5mm internal width rims Pike Ultimate 140 Super Deluxe Debonair Select Plus Code RSC Brakes GX Drivetrain Chromag BZA Fubar Chromag Lynx DT saddle ANVL 40mm stem Reverb Dropper One-UP Chainguide V2 Oil Slick bolts throughout, & oil slick chain, for subtle bling. Peatys/King Valve caps double as core removal tool. Willing to swap green saddle, handlebar, & grips for subtler Chromag Orange or Black if preferred, see photos. One-UP also makes their upper guide available separately in orange, etc, and no shortage of custom decal companies these days if you want the Pike and Santa Cruz graphic to match perfectly. Prefer local sale but will ship if buyer covers. Please ask any questions. This mint ride is going to make someone very happy.

Editors' Choice: Our Favorite Parts From the Value Bike Field Test
Specialized tires seem to run a bit less tight than some other brands - I like them on Stans rims since stan's oversized bead seat diameter is a total PITA with real tight tires (Conti, WTB, etc). Haven't tried newest T7/9 generation, but surprised if they would have changed BSD.

Henry’s Waffle House: Mountain Biking is Getting Too Easy
@Hayek: I can't tell if you are criticizing his writing or not... This article indeed deftly avoided hard conclusions :) I immensely enjoyed his Substantial considerations and reconsiderations of values, judgments, motivations, approaching the whole basis of this 'being human' game

Chris King Launches Range of Recyclable Carbon Wheels
Last I heard DH pros were still trusting 27mm... And while most of us are not pros, we've (hopefully) all held a 3mm hex key and are suffering marketing delusions if perceiving big gains based on that minute rim dimension

Pinkbike Poll: Do You Run a Bash Guard?
Worst part is Mfg's frame protection usually doesn't quite extend up over the baby bump corner there... Where takes those hits directly
