10 year old Jackson Goldstone is no stranger to danger. For the few years he has been coming to camp he has always turned a keen eye toward the massive MegaRamp in our backyard. Used to jumping huge gaps, Jackson knew that one day he would conquer this beast. Check him out as he does just that.

You can hear the love and passion in his fathers voice, that is so awesome.
  • + 14
 How fun was that?
  • + 218
I wonder if my jumping would improve if I got a hug from my dad after successful jumps? Sure it would look weird at the bike park as I am 39 and he is 72, but I am gonna ask 'Pops' if he's willing to give it a try.
  • + 19
A lil relief as well. Has to be scary to see you kiddo go so big.
  • + 1
Goffboy, honestly? If you would take him to a jump site and clear such thing in front of him, and he'd show some smiles I'd be even more impressed than with this hahaha Big Grin try it, it may be awesome. I am 33 and I am hoping to make mydad see me hitting a road gap few hundred meters above my parents home.

2:21, seeing his dad doing the victory dance, love it!!

Dude, I want freakin 24" SINGLE SPEED downhill bike, seriously, I would sell my left nut to buy a single speed dh frame!!!!!
  • + 6
ask your parents to buy it for you then. Save your nut they are more valuable.
  • + 3
No need to sell your manhood @bikermaniac101... Just build one up. Most fun you can have on two wheels..

That is rad. What is it? Looks like an orange.
  • + 1
That is a SWD frame. I remember reading about them in Decline several years ago, they make chromoly dh frames. I didn't know they were still around, I would love to ride that bike.
  • + 1
His pops was flying right beside Jackson. No doubt he's the next Cam Zink. Lil man got bigger cajones than us dudes!
  • + 2
@tobiusmaximum and @drs140t Unfortunately, SWD is not around any more. The company folded up after the owner passed away in early 2008. Steve was a big fan of the simplicity of the Orange 22X and the Morewood Izimu. Amazing bikes. They come up for sale very rarely (maybe once or twice a year).
  • + 1
The kid is amazing but his dads support is priceless!!!
  • + 1
Bicycle Fabrications in San Francisco is still doing the SWD bikes...Hank Matheson was a welder for SWD. They built me a single pivot DH bike...love it!
  • + 2
Hey @Sassyquatch... I know Hank personally and have one of his SWD216s as well. I would have mentioned him except that he no longer makes the 216 and has no plans to. He now has a steel all mountain rig named the 6Gun after the Original SWD Racing version but other than being steel, its not at all the same (but it's awesome as all heck and I want one bad) Definitely support him as he's one of the very few steel, gravity, custom, US manufacturers. Oh, and the new 6Gun as well as his Pocket Rocket are fully SINGLE SPEED READY @bikermaniac101 .
  • + 1
@pbrider my parents? Really? Some of us on Pinkbike are actually big boys who haven't grown up yet, I happen to be 28 and married, so that would be a negative on asking my parents to buy me one..... Well, I'm riding my Giant Glory 0 without a shifter, have it ziptied to the handlebar, and the derr is set to 5ish out of 9, so that works right now, but I'd like a more permanent solution.
  • + 1
@bikermaniac101 Any DH bike will lend itself well to a single speed set up.. Just pick up a single speed cassette spacer kit, cog of your choice, and a tensioner to replace your derailleur. You can use a derailleur in a pinch but a dedicated tensioner is lighter, stronger, and more stable...I personally use the Rohloff DH tensioner...It's the best there is. Pull off your shifting and shorten your chain as much as you can under full compression. Single speed will drop about 3/4 of a pound off your bike, make it very quiet, you'll never miss a shift or slip a gear, you'll always know what gear your in in, and will improve your riding. Do it!
  • + 0
@bikermaniac101 .... If you are; 28, Married, Small enough to ride a 24" single speed downhill bike and still can't afford one I could make a few other suggestions. Get a job so you can afford one, ask your wife to pawn her wedding ring, or perhaps go back to the reason you even need a 24" single speed downhill bike. That is a bike rather tailored to a specific size and type of riding and whilst I don't deny the validity of such a rig after perusing your profile I would guess you fit very few criteria needed for such a selection. With this new information do allow me to suggest that you DO NOT SELL YOUR TESTICLE. I only say this because at the age of 28 and being married it will have good use in the future. Oh yes and if your wife approves of parting with your balls she certainly could be coerced into hawking some jewelry instead. Take the easy road my friend, or perhaps ask your wife's parents.

Rampage will be on Mars by the time he's zinks age.
  • + 54
Second to the last jump had me a bit on the edge; glad he didn't get bucked over the bars!
  • + 7
When I saw they were going to have him speed check it into the knuckle, all I could think was "I hope they slowed his rebound all the way down".

  • + 48
choked up at the end when he ran to his dad, way too good
  • + 11
 the good stuff, right there.
  • + 6
 Same feel. Good times.
  • + 39
So many things I want to say, like "Wow, this kid rips", "Wish I had started this young", and "I can't even ride like that"...

I'll settle for " Nicely done!.. Very nicely done."
  • + 40
Nice to see a kid with such determination! Better biking than playing on the console… Wink
  • + 2
Agreeee to you on that mate.
  • + 19
I can do thst, hold my beer
  • + 46
Sounds like you had one already. Razz
  • + 19
the Force is strong with this one...
  • + 15
Jackson when I grow up I want to ride like you! I'm 43 and still growing if that counts. My goal for this year has been to get better at jumping. I have a long way to go. Any suggestions man? Rocking bike man! Deep breaths dad.
  • + 13
Sorry but he's not lucky because his Dad, his lucky because his MOM!!! My wife will kill me if I tried to do that with my... errrr... our kids. Good job buddy, keep it going.
  • + 13
those feels at 2:00 ..... I'm 31 and am jealous of this kids relationship with his dad. Enjoy it dude, don't take it for granted, you are a lucky kid.

My dad sucks Frown

also inb4 : strong username to post vibe.
  • + 11
I had my training wheels removed at 10...
  • + 4
he'll be hitting 30 ft gaps and 3'ing them at 12 haha
  • + 9
we can start leading with his first and last name in headlines now. no need to lead with his age anymore. he's earned that much, at the very least.
  • + 1
Yeah... Sigh... I'd sure like to forget he's ten. Ten!?!??!
  • + 8
Jesus Christ please give that kid a neck brace so he doesn't have to control a wheel chair with a straw for the rest of his life. Awesome but scary to watch.
  • + 7
agree on the neck brace. might need something for those big balls as well Wink
  • + 3
people never realize the importance of them. yes the clavicle is easier to break using them but rather that than having to sit in a wheelchair for the rest of my days
  • + 0
not everyone believes that they work. i know i don't believe in them. personal choice really.
  • + 2
There seems to be a mountain of evidence that they DO work. If there's even a chance that they work, you'd think having your child wear one would be a no brainer.
  • + 3
 #samhillscorpionsurvival?
  • + 4
As a father of two kids I have this deep personal message to anyone who wants to give me advice how should kids be raised up and cared about - please mind your own business and keep it to yourself. Now to those who want to give others such advice in terms of safety, exposure of their kid for danger, then please consider that you are highly likely projecting your own fear on the other kid/parent aaand you are involountarily insinuating that he/she fmdoes not care enough making him/her feel as a bad parent which often presses one of deepest complexes a human being can have. So... Fck you, eat a dck, eat my arse, Thank you!
  • + 1
Thank you @WAKIdesigns, that needed to be said... Father of three.
  • + 3
Ok, I commented last year that it seemed like he has been 10 for 2 years now. How the hell is he still 10? What, on top of already being better than most of us he doesn't age either?
  • + 6
If he's still 10 at the start of 2016 then start getting nervous!
  • + 3
 Jackson's birthday is February 10, 2004.
  • + 2
Jackson, buddy, as a dad I am inspired! My daughter is 6 and besides wanting to be a rock star, veterinarian, dentist, and martial arts expert, she wants to ride with me in the mountains. I am on cloud nine every time she says it. (I think her mom will eventually let me too!!!) There is NOTHING more special than quality time with your kids. As a dedicated parent, this is the kind of stuff that motivates above all else. I am really happy for the both of you. Keep it up!
  • + 2
Jackson, dude, awesome riding and your attitude is fantastic. Your parents are awesome too. So happy to see you wearing lots of protection- I'm laying in hospital now and it sucks!!! Keeps shredding man!! Love watching you ride with your Dad!
  • + 4
There isnt enough props in the whole world for you Jackson! That was so sick! Cant wait to watch you shred in the years to come! YEA buddy you killed it!
  • + 1

i have 5 minutes in front of the "post a comment", and i dont know how to describe this kid, and this video. He is making the dreams of most of us i guess.
  • + 1
Awesome, and it's great to see the Canfield brothers bringing out the smaller scale bikes. Chris and Lance, thanks for continuing to create for all of us.
  • + 1
I've seen this kid come up! So cool! Way to go! I was riding with him last winter at the indoor bike park in Burlington. it's so much fun to watch him ride.
  • + 1
I still get the same feeling. First got it on a 1974 Yamaha Moto-bike. That rush and stoke feeling. Very happy for this young man.
  • + 3
How big is that gap? Looks fun!
  • + 4
 that's what he said
  • + 2
Easily the best video on here.......ever. The hairs on my neck stood up when he landed that. Even my Mrs was stoked!
  • + 1
Pretty sick, but whats with the dual suspension bike? It seems like that would hold him back from some stuff
  • + 1
If only I could change the font size of this comment to 73 Cuz it would be a big WOW!!!
  • + 1
sick flick, what a legend! took me ages to find out what that frame was...Canfield Brothers still rockin it! Smile
  • + 2
He rode that withour rear brakes?wtf?
  • + 2
Prob didn't have a front caliper either....
  • + 3
Good pick up pedrohfr! the shot without brakes was done after he had hit it. we had taken his brakes off already when we decided to shoo the extra scene.
  • + 1
we all get tempted to brake tap.. That's one way to solve it! rad to see him progress so much..

Here's a video of him from 2008 at Whistler.. He was doing laps and launching the stares on his push bike.
