JensonUsa... where most of my retirement $$$ has probably been spent

And when your order will be shipped.

(JUST kidding. They’re great nowadays but couldn’t resit based on how it was a few years ago.)
  • 21 1
@jeremiahwas: in the last 8 years I have never had one problem from them and I usually get my stuff next day considering I live 45 min from there
  • 1 3
 @jeremiahwas: yep yep no doubt

The new interface on the product listing is worse, though. Load times are a lot longer compared to the old design. It certainly works on mobile browsers since you only need to load a couple of pictures at a time (when you scroll) but the desktop version is just a pain, particularly if you load more than 20 products per page.

Jenson USA always hooking me up for a shred
  • 1 0
 @Krzymndyd: But sales tax....
  • 1 0
What about it? They will price match anything. So I pay 8% extra but I get it next day. @endlessblockades:
  • 1 0
@Krzymndyd: Fair enough. I do consider tax when making a $1000+ online purchase and usually hit up Fanatik or Colorado, etc.

that Nomad will be almost free in a month too

 The nomad or the intense?

I have a game for everyone. The next time there is an Online Deals, before you click on the page, guess how many intense bikes will be on sale. If you are right, get yourself ice cream. If you are wrong, good luck next time.

 *Insert intense joke here*

Man goes to psychologist. Says he's having a reoccurring dream where he turns into a teepee, then a wigwam, then a teepee, then a wigwam. What does it mean, doc? Doc says: "I think you are too tense"
  • 9 5
Sex in tents? It's f#cken Intense..
  • 6 7
You know what else is Intense?.....camping
  • 6 0
The past, present, and future walk into a bar. It was (in)tense.
  • 1 1
Did you guys hear about the circus fire?
I heard it was Intense!
  • 9 1
I always bought from CR until I started getting slapped with ridiculous duty fees from DHL. And, unless you pay for shipping now Jensons shipping is not much better. I remember ordering from Jenson and it would be at my house the next day. I miss those days.
  • 2 0
CR has a slightly slower (but free) shipping option using Canada Post.
  • 1 0
They still offer that fast shipping, it is the more expensive option. The free one takes longer, but it's cheaper for sure.
  • 1 0
I should have added that there are no brokerage fees with Canada Post, and I personally have never paid duty on anything with Canada Post.
  • 1 0
Yup if you pay for the faster shipping option you are also pretty much guaranteed to pay duty and brokerage. If you stay with the free option you will not pay brokerage, and many times will not pay duty.
  • 1 0
@tkrug: Well not exactly with Jenson, their price is duties and taxes included. So either shipping method you are only choosing between fast and slow.
  • 1 0
@charmingbob: so you're saying there's no added fees with Jenson? I'm in bc at the moment and need to get some cheap parts without getting shafted
  • 1 0
@felimocl: No, I'm saying I personally have never paid duty or brokerage fees on items shipped to Canada from Chain Reaction when shipped via Canada Post. I don't have any experience with Jenson USA.
  • 2 0
@felimocl: jensonusa you prepay for duty and fees during check out. No extra fees upon arrival and the fees are cheap. Order from them every few weeks as its half price for most things over shopping in Canada.
  • 11 2
Those 2016 intense`s will soon be free....Think they over produced. That or nobody wants them.
  • 3 1
big time over priced! jensonusa 50% off. Just wait until next year feburary, jensonusa dumps bikes at cost. 50% off.
  • 8 3
come on sales people, we are not stupid. bikes are way over priced. here is an example: www.competitivecyclist.com/santa-cruz-bicycles-nomad-carbon-cc-x01-complete-mountain-bike-2016
  • 2 0
Great deal! If you ride a size M....
  • 3 0
As @Fresh1 said, Great deal if you happen to ride a medium. But dropping the price of an item you have an abundance of in 1 size that doesn't sell that well isn't really an indicator of said item's market value.
  • 8 1
have the intense jokes reached the level of "looks like a session" yet or "26ers R for everr"
  • 3 0
That GT Fury is an insane deal, although it needs a fork upgrade right off the bat.
  • 1 1
Dunbar changed the price on the Der Guide... was showing at $29.92 yesterday with $14 shipping to US. Today is showing as $39.95 and cheapest shipping is now $19 to US (if you want tracking). You can order from Blackspire direct for $40 with same shipping costs.
  • 2 0
 Dunbar's prices are bad anyways.
  • 2 0
All these awesome deals every month, and they're always on things that don't quite fit my agenda in one way or another.
  • 1 0
I have that Ascend dropper post from CRC. Best dropper I've ever used and its so much cheaper than the Reverb stealth that is a total piece of shit.
  • 2 0
Why are intense bikes always for sale?
  • 5 1
I just talked to a bike shop about this. The shop said that the bikes are over priced. In other words, you pay 8 thousand for an intense bike with middle of the line components. The bike shop said that they have a hard time selling intense so they cut back on selling these bikes. And these bikes don't have a life time warranty like their competitors.
  • 4 1
Why is anything on "sale",because nobody wants it.
  • 8 0
Intense dumped their local bike shop distributor model in Canada (I think?) and now they're sold at MEC instead. Hence, shops that still have them need to unload their stock.
  • 6 2
That's sad... Back in 90s intense is consider one of very best bike manufacture. Intense M1 was the thing! Still a legacy though
  • 1 0
@mitchelllui: I don't think it's necessarily a bad move. Mec has a great return policy and very customer friendly. Probably easier/cheaper for intense because mec has a huge network in Canada for distribution and such. Not a big deal, in my opinion, that intense decided to sell their bikes with a bigger retailer.
  • 1 0
@mitchelllui: heck yeah they were! I remember when the m1 first came out, and Jeff would ride it around like a XC bike. Ahhhh, them were the days!
  • 2 1
@mitchelllui: When you consider their competition, they still are. Intense frames have their quirks (rear link clearance, shocks rubbing on mounts, etc)...but I challenge you to name a top brand that doesn't. Every one has a list of stupid design elements, chronic minor issues, and one or two major issues. That's just what you are signing up for when you buy a high end "boutique" bike. These companies don't have the R&D/testing budgets that Giant/Trek/Specialized have and as a result, their products are not quite as polished.
  • 1 0
 @TheRaven:

I was wondering what so bad about intense that other people in pink bike claim no one want them. I owed intense spider 05 and tracer 09. Of course, the older has some flaw but the later model fixed most issue but nothing perfect indeed. Afterward, i moved onto multiple ibis and now yeti. Still, i think intense is good and will recommend to newbie as one of the option. Unfortunately, i won't tell anyone to pay full price as they tend to be on sale as many people here know very well.
  • 2 0
@TheRaven: I get your point about R&D but when you sell bikes that can range up to 10,000 dollars just like the big guys, your bike better be damn good.
  • 1 1
@dimetera413: Yes I agree. I don't agree with the prices at all. But then again, i'm not running out to spend $10000 on the latest boutique offering either. My current bikes are always 2-3 years old.

I'm also not in the comments section hating on Trek/Specialized/Giant and talking about how the boutique bikes are so superior. There are alot of brainwashed fanboys here that don't understand how the bike industry works.
  • 1 0
I must buy those Ibis wheels in preparation for my Wreckoning Wink @theminsta
  • 1 0
I already checked the specs for my Slash, the rear hub spacing is 142mm, that's why they're so cheap!
  • 1 0
Why doesn't intense just drop the price of their bikes they're on sale every month anyhow lol
  • 1 0
Anyone with experience on the Blackspire Der guide?
  • 1 0
I used the one without the bottom roller. Forget what it was called. It worked great and was good value when I got it.
  • 1 0
Yeah, I love mine. Had it for two years and it's still in good form after a couple rock encounters. I don't know if it truly is less friction than a roller wheel to any point you can tell, but it's been hassle free for me. It's easy to take the top or bottom guides off if for some reason you don't want to use it or need to replace them. I'm thinking of buying one for a backup.

 Nobody wants intense cycles
