What's with the ridiculous intense sales every month?
  • 63 6
 wouldn't call 4000+ a sale...
  • 32 3
Maybe the market of overprice bike start to be tierd to screw costumers!
  • 29 2
 MEC.
  • 4 0
I've noticed similar. Intense are getting a lot more stores to stock their bikes around my area, which is quite bizarre as anything thats not Norco, Kona or Giant is considered boutique
  • 46 1
Intense signed a huge deal to sell their bikes at MEC stores throughout Canada. Most if not all bike shops hate and compete with MEC, so they are trying to sell off their stock so they can bring in another brand like Santa Cruz or Pivot.
  • 4 2
I heard they were trying to get current stock off the market before going direct sales
  • 4 0
That and they've just brought out a new Tracer so the value of the old one has dropped. Doesn't explain the Spider but most of the Intense on here over recent times tend to be Tracers...
  • 8 1
I think its about time Intense fessed up and called the "sale" prices their retail prices. Then a real sale price would actually look like a sale price.
  • 3 0
Since MEC started stocking them they seem not to be selling. There has been deals on their bikes since last October.
  • 3 0
@sexley: except non of the stores with intense on sale in this post are Canadian by the looks of it. I'm not sure that MEC affects US bike sales much.
  • 3 1
 Maybe REI is next?

I know my lbs was in the process of dropping Intense before they publicly announced the MEC deal.
  • 4 0
Calgary Cycles dropped Intense because of this reason.
  • 2 0
@k-too: and that's my lbs! Smile
  • 3 0
It's just a sales marketing strategy that plays off people's desire to get a deal. Other brands might not let them advertise a discount, but you can "talk down" your lbs $500 within 3 sentences. I'm not sure I've ever met anyone who doesn't think they got "hooked up" in some when buying their new bike.
  • 2 2
@sexley: except all the stores offering Intense sales here are not Canadian. I agree that it's happened in Canada but doesn't explain the sales on this article.
  • 2 0
Does anyone actually pay MSRP for an Intense? I feel like you would be crazy to. Just wait 9 months and pay what they should have been asking from day 1.

This is coming from someone who owns and rides the shit out of an Intense...
  • 3 0
Maybe the fail of the month video had something to do with it...
  • 21 0
Ironic that a LOT of the prices listed here for BRAND NEW goods are cheaper than a lot of used goods listed for sale in the buy and sell ads. PS .. sellers, your stuff is not worth 90% MRSP after you have used it.
  • 3 0
Yes. Thanks for saying it. Hilarious some of the prices sellers are trying to get for used bikes/components
  • 2 1
thank you!!! I want to slap the shit out of the overpriced pink biker.. I always try to buy from a fellow pink biker but they're getting retarded... I'm not even wasting my time anymore.. I go straight to an on-line retailer.
  • 2 0
Wishful thinking on the part of sellers.
  • 12 0
Jenson also has XT m8000 cranksets on sale for 100 bucks and it comes with a 32T cromo ring and the BB.
www.jensonusa.com/Shimano-XT-M8000-1X-Crankset-No-PCKG?cs=Black
  • 2 0
Holy crap. Chainrings alone are $60 at my lbs.
  • 2 0
@bishopsmike: Yeah man mine too. I was in the market for a new crank to replace my Raceface chester on my trail bike (basically a boat anchor, but it is super durable so it's a bit of a trade off) and picked one up.
  • 17 0
@bishopsmike: hurr durr support your local bike shop hurr durr you are evil for saving money instead of giving it away hurr durr
  • 2 0
Thanks for the info, just bought it.
  • 14 3
I like how the Intense Tracer photo specs definitely do not go with the price... that ENVE clickbait.
  • 8 5
I believe they call that bait and switch Wink I clicked and was WTF.......that's BS EVO
  • 11 0
QR Fox 32s and a KS Dropzone deal. What year are we in?
  • 3 2
don't knock the dropzone, mine has been super reliable
  • 11 2
"SF16 RUX-R2C2-200-T DS 27.5" TT MATTE BLACK" wtf kinda fork name is that
  • 3 0
Someone should do a dual crown downhill fork comparison, I would be interested how they stack up, although some are 1.125" head tubes and some are tapered, so it might be hard to do a direct comparison.
  • 14 0
Catchy. Just rolls off the tongue
  • 9 0
Look at that repair stand with Kashima gold coating. Nice!
  • 3 0
I wish rs still made dual air forks. I'd buy that yari in a heart beat but I'm not gonna take a chance on getting top out clanking.
  • 7 0
I went from an OG dual air pike 454 to a yari which came on my new bike. I was gonna swap it for a new lyrik or fox36 but it's really good. Hard to knock for the price
  • 4 0
I just got a Yari on my 2017 and its pretty surprising. My previous fork (which i still have mounted on my 2016 bike) a pike RCT3 still beats the Yari... But i got to admit, i don't plan on NOT riding the Yari, thus far I'm really enjoying it.
  • 2 0
Yari works great and it's not super expensive. I'd recommend getting some lower friction seals and you will be set!
  • 1 0
Same here. 10/10 w my yari. It has a bit of a silly name though.
  • 6 1
Has anyone ever paid full price for an Intense? There always on special
  • 5 3
Shout out to shimano for under cutti local businesses and blowing all their sh*t out on line for less than what local dealers pay.
  • 7 1
Then just buy Sram. Thanks to Shimano for not blocking international sellings like Sram, so I don't have to pay the ridiculous prices that they have in my country for Shimano stuff.
  • 1 3
@passwordpinkbike: since when did Sram block international sales?
That's illegal and impossible in Europe
  • 14 1
 @IllestT:

Weirdly, there are countries outside of Europe.

@bonfire: Yeah, but only crap ones
  • 8 4
@IllestT: dude, you should go ahead and read vernon's piece on trying not to be a d*ck to one another. aint kiddin.
  • 7 0
@IllestT: Well, atleast my crap country has fun places to ride. Fun crap.
  • 1 0
@noisette: I don't live in Europe but I still got the joke. He was joking wasn't he?
  • 3 0
Guys, calm down. Not all jokes start with "knock knock"
  • 3 0
I kind of need a rim job, but also a hub job..........in an ideal world..............
  • 3 0
I'd love to know how dt thinks the back rim should be 700 dollars more then the front they must be smoken something funny!!
  • 3 0
$700 is a bit much, agreed. but spend a trouble free decade riding one of their rear hubs and the value starts to seem reasonable.
  • 5 3
Why post Chain Reaction prices in USD when you can have the price in CAD on their website? As far as I know, Pinkbike is still a Canadian property, right?
  • 2 0
I heard it us incorporated thrpugh a shell company and multiple cross shareholdings in the BVI for tax reasons.
  • 3 0
 God damn.....values wise it's like XT 1st Daylight 2nd.....
  • 6 4
Paid less for my xt brakes a month or two ago. Not sure why you think that's a deal
  • 1 0
I was about to say I clicked because these deals are always worth a good laugh, but those gloves do look pretty neat actually. They are like jewelry for your hands.
  • 3 1
Pb-march aint working! I need some shades!
  • 2 3
Prices are pretty shitty if you ask me. I've seen way better prices than those listed here. These are deals for the online retailers, not for the buyers.
  • 1 0
Has anyone tried the Marzocchi 350R on sale at Jenson for $280 right now?
  • 3 0
Have one on my transition patrol. Super happy with it.. easy set and forget. Low maintenance. Feels stiff enough for me 240lbs in full gear.
  • 2 1
 Schmokin Dealsh
  • 2 3
I took one take on that KS post. Now my retinas are seared forever.
