Bell Launches 3 New Helmets for 2018 - First Look
I got one a couple months ago, at first I was bummed but then I looked at the release date, I wouldnt get a chance to use it for half a year. I'm fine with paying $120 less and using it now than waiting until next year.

Meekboyz's Carbon Fiber Kids Bikes - Crankworx Whistler 2017
Just because theyre kids doesnt mean they dont know how to ride. A lot of kids that live near ski resorts and parks are riding blacks and doing drops taller than them already, they would make better use of bikes like this than most of us.

New Specialized 2FO 2.0 Flat Pedal Shoes - Review
They did a good job on the look of the shoe, it actually looks like a shoe for bikes, not skateboards. But somehow they screwed up the rubber while still maintaining an uncompetitive price. So my next shoe is still the Adidas Terrex Trail Cross.

Spēd Precision Maul TR Wheels - Review
You have to wonder just how cheap and easy carbon wheels are to make (or maybe buy and brand) when companies have been coming out of the woodwork recently with new carbon rims. It seems like within the past year theres been an explosion in carbon options, from new Chinese sites selling carbon rims for cheap, new US brands "specializing" in carbon rims, and big name brands suddenly pushing carbon. I wouldnt be surprised if factories have started franchising carbon designs.

DT Swiss XM 1501 Spline One 29 Wheels - Review
Ive had bolts seize and require drilling out on an old set of wheels so I am pro-centerlock. The only thing I hate about them is the BB tool. I dont have a BB tool, none of my friends have a BB tool, my new bike is pressfit so I have no use for one, and they arent exactly cheap. Cassette tools on the other hand are 5 bucks and every bike needs one. Unfortunately it seems that most wheels come with the BB tool nut instead of the cassette tool version.

Santa Cruz Hightower LT - First Ride
Did Santa Cruz fire the designer that came up with the good color schemes from the last couple of years? The old Hightower had 2 great color schemes, same with the 5010, now they are mismatched or just plain boring. Reminds me of old Santa Cruz, hopefully they dont bring back the Denver Broncos 5010.

Summer of Glove: 7 Men's Gloves Reviewed
I bought some Giro DND gloves and like them a lot, basic gloves with a lot of different styles to choose from and only $15. Fingers are the tightest fit Ive found, they put crease marks on my fingers when I first got them but after breaking them in they feel custom made for my hand. My old Pearl Izumi gloves feel way too big now. I recommend them to people who are looking for a tight fit and think fingers always fit too loose (fat fingered people will eventually rip the seams on these things).

Afton Shoes First Look - Crankworx Les Gets 2017
Im done buying skate shoes. Next shoes will be Adidas Terrex Cross SL, they actually seem to understand that mountain biking sometimes involves hiking up trails and a slick loose fitting skate shoe is a pain in the ass. I've probably fallen more times slipping on a trail while holding my bike than I have while on the bike.

Scott Genius 2018 - First Ride
Totally agree with the fork lockout comment. Every time I have locked out my fork it felt worse. On the road it feels REALLY bad with every crack somehow feeling worse than a road bike because it sends shockwaves up the handlebar, then when climbing the fork is much more likely to come off the ground and wander over every little rock. I just dont see the point and dont want a lever taking up space on my handlebar controlling it. Perhaps if the fork was TALAS and you could drop the travel on the fly it would actually be useful.

X-Fusion's $199 Manic Dropper Post - Review
Whats the point of releasing a 125mm aftermarket dropper before 150mm? So many people want to upgrade their 125mm Reverbs. I understand why 125mm comes stock on bikes because its cheaper for OEMs since it works for all sizes but if someone is looking at aftermarket stealth droppers chances are they want to upgrade their stock 125mm dropper.
