@sino428: Suffice it to say, whatever criteria chosen would eliminate 99.9% of people contributing to this thread. Riders vote would be interesting but it would be hard to put up scores in real time. Which people want - they want to know immediately who is winning, etc. Its expected in such comps. Perhaps they should put on a "Proving Grounds" for judges, where aspiring judges have to ride a line on the venue, tick off some "standard issue" tricks that have been around for a while. E.g., step down backflips, 360 drops, etc. You know, the stuff that is "easy" these days, since it was done 10 years ago. You could reduce the focus on the competition... makes it more like a fest event. But then, think of all the entertainment that would be denied to this community -- getting to argue about who should have won, why this or that person got F'd, complaining about judging conspiracies! Why would we want to deprive the community of that, seems like its half the entertainment! Certainly this thread suggests that people really care about who wins as much as if not more than just simply the opportunity to watch some of the gnarliest freeriders in the world fully hanging it out there...
