Pinkbike Poll: Adjustable Geometry - Necessity or Nuisance?
I could do without all the other stuff, but adjustable horizontal dropouts (correctly done) are great. My Giant STP dirt jumper has 390mm chain stays and it's really fun to ride, but the slides also allow me to go longer if I want to run fatter tires.

Video: Christian Rigal's Street Sessions on the New Ripmo AF
Yet more proof: if you want to get skills, or have your kid develop skills, ride BMX. And, you'll spend more time riding rather than recovering if you wear a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads (so says my trauma surgeon).

Video: Every Single Trick in Dennis Enarson's New 'Caps Lock' Video is a Banger
Wow. Incredibly smooth, which is probably why he's still in one piece. Also glad that he showed that you can wear a helmet and still be a really good street rider.

Ask PB: Foxy vs Mega, Fast Rolling Rear Tires, and Crank Arm Lengths
So now you're considering changing crank length, in addition to tires and/or wheel size, plus gearing (probably front chainrings on 1x)? To help avoid confusion, it is useful to use GAIN RATIO, instead of GEAR RATIO. Gain ratio accounts for crank length AND effective tire diameter, in addition to the gear ratio. This makes it easier to sort thru the effects of the changes you may be considering. Of course, pedal strike clearance is a separate issue.
