PRESS RELEASE: Hub-a-Palooza

Hub-a-Palooza is returning for 2020!! Usually hosted in the spring, Hub-a-Palooza was postponed due to Covid-19. Instead of pushing it off until 2021, Velo Northwest pushed it back to the fall. We will officially be racing the Enduro on Saturday, September 26th and both of the Downhill races will be on Sunday, September 27th!!

With the courses having been announced last week, Alex Anderson and Jake Taylor went out to make a course preview in case you aren't familiar with the trails. The dusty conditions made for a couple spills and close calls!

The Enduro has been shortened this year to help alleviate the stress put on the volunteers running the timing system. Gone is the extra stage for the Pro class so this year it riders can flow through the courses without having to get jumbled in a mixed bag of skill levels. Don't worry, even though there is no extra course, the trails chosen will challenge riders of all skill levels!

ENDURO COURSES /

1 – Wiggler > Yard Sale

2 – Commitment Issues > Master Blaster > Scared Cat

3 – Pop Rocks > Penny Lane > Hot Gates > Myth

4 – Deep Thoughts

Two downhill races with two separate courses make for a fun bit of action. Normally held on two separate days, this year both downhills will occur on Sunday! Be ready for a good time as you fly down Bomber or get your blood pumpin on Artificial High to Hollywood!

DOWNHILL COURSES /

Course 1 – Artificial High > Hollywood

Course 2 – Bomber

Lastly, don't forget to join for the unofficial Dirt Jam / High Jump – there are tons of good jump trails at Camp Sekani and we hold an informal jump jam / high jump on Saturday afternoon after the enduro!

Check out the event and get more details here;

And if you'd like to volunteer there are plenty of opportunities for that as well!

We hope you enjoy and can't wait to see you this weekend!

Damn! Looks like fun. Beacon Hill is so good. Wish I could make it out this year!

 Is there camping available?

@FSA-MTB There is. Camping on site is available starting Thursday. No wood fires allowed, small propane pits are okay as long as there is protection underneath.

Is the downhill faster on a trail bike?

@DoubleCrownAddict I would say almost certainly for the Artificial High to Hollywood one. Bomber the bottom bit can be nice to have a DH bike, but trail bike is plenty capable. That said I think either course could be won on either a DH or Trail/Enduro bike.
