We are back to World Cup racing. With the spring break done, we are ready to go full pace into the summer racing block. This week we head over to Scotland for round 2 of the World Cup at Fort William. A classic venue that is more challenging every year.—Neko Mulally

I know a few bike designers, and while they’re all descent riders, none of them race the bikes themselves at the sport’s highest level. This is such a rare and insightful thing to witness and I’m grateful Neko is bringing us along.
…and thanks for keeping the content real, and down-to-earth. I find the fluffy, over-dramatized reality show style to be unwatchable. This is the opposite. Thank you.
Huh, good catch. He had previous mentioned using shimano hoses with TRP brakes for superior consistency etc, but pretty sure they were using TRP calipers before
@Wander512: I may be mistaken, but I thought TRP hoses were smaller in diameter and also being stiffer to give them better mecanical advantage at the caliper pistons. I therefore thought them to be superior over Shimano ones.
Great stuff Neko. Sorry about the flat. Not sure if you read the comments but here goes. For the last 4 years I haven't had a flat (knock on wood). I run DH casing F+R Maxxis with Cushcore AND a Huck Norris Mega Norris Sndwhich/Hamburger, and sealant. Heavy yes. But I run 8 psi and rarely feel rim and no dents. Incredible tactile feel. I use the suspension clickers to increase or decrease liveliness. This is in Reno. Lots of rocks. Don't want to deal with trail repairs. I will run flat if necessary.
Man, that sucks. Can't wait to see what a purebred race machine can really accomplish! Based on the 1st split he was floating around 20th before the flat.
...However, a custom Neko Mulally designed bike? Fkn sign me up bro! I dont care if you ever win a race.
