October 4, 2014 will see a new multi-disciplinary bike race coming to London. Parkour Ride will pitch mountain bikers against BMX and road racers, both amateur and professional in a race up and down a multi-storey car park. With obstacles in place to offer short-cuts to the BMX and MTB riders (and potentially to brave/stupid roadies too), the event should weed out the best bike riders, not just the people who are fastest out the gate.
The format will see riders take part in a time trial with the aim of qualifying for an elimination tournament against pros such as BMX World Champion Liam Phillips. Organisers, FACE Partnership (also responsible for the London Nocturne road race), are promising more than just a bike race with DJs, bars, food and other attractions designed to keep the party going into the early hours.
Race entry costs £20 (which also includes your ticket to the event for those that don’t qualify) and is now open on
www.parkourride.com. Places are limited to 200 and riders need to be over 18 to be eligible to race.
For those who prefer to watch bike racing and drink beer, spectator tickets are also available to buy online for £20. As an incentive to get them early there is no booking fee for tickets purchased before August 1st. Find out more and buy tickets on

Also, the wide bar trend did get a bit silly, but its way better than the narrow bar trend the fixie riders are going with
No need for SEALED DRIVE if indoors?
But even after reading the write up it failed to excite me
Does sound like a cool idea for an event, my fixie rider's hateing aside.
