It's a good idea, but hopefully they make an adapter for "regular" railed saddles, so that it's still useable when the kid outgrows the frame. I've seen a few such adapters over the years, but they can be hard to find because it's a niche use case.

First Look: Intend Hover Opt Shock
When did Wiesmann release his V-brakes*? I was under the impression that Ben Capron's Marinovative Stop-Lites were the first, ~1990. There were several other brands that released similar products at the time, so there was probably a lot of convergent thinking.
*Or "Linear-Pull" brakes, as "V-Brake" was Shimano's trade name.

5 Cyclist Attacked By Cougar Near Fall City, Washington
"A group of five mountain bikers were out riding through a cougar's territory on Saturday, February 17, when the occupant - startled and threatened by the noisy invaders - decided to to tell them they were unwelcome, by matching teeth with the biggest one. The under-toothed biker sustained injuries to her neck and face from the victorious 75-pound cougar, but is in stable condition.
The cougar reports its condition as "Just keepin' it real, y'know."
