The UCI world cup circuit is a living, breathing community of riders dedicated to travelling the globe to race bikes. Nomadic in nature, this elite community exists only on the road in a never-ending pursuit of milliseconds. These athletes train the hardest, constantly drive technology forward and act as ambassadors for our sport as they travel the world to compete.
Strength in Numbers is a new community film project from Anthill Films and Red Bull Media House. Presented by Shimano and Trek, Strength in Numbers is being made available for all mountain bikers to experience through free online streaming of individual segments. I loved the part when they have the aerial shot of Gee going through those berms at Fort William! It's so fucking cool how he BLASTS out of the berms!!!!
Over the years I've noticed that Gee says "ya know..." so much. Gwin, love him but he seems like a standard American jock almost. Maybe I should say more of a true professional, focused on his game to the point where he comes off more serious than he really might be? The same for Gee sometimes I think. Both are tops in my book.
I agree with you to a certain extent, i dont think aaron is as serious as he seems, i watched an interview with him somewhere and he says that he doesnt take himself to seriously, he just loves his lifestyle and having a job he enjoys, and as for gee being serious...watch the atherton projects haha. theyre both such well rounded riders but i think theyre serious when they need to be, to get focused and be in the zone to win. makes for some great watching having them 2 racing the wc's though!
gee for a start is a complete nut case but in a fun loving way like with fireworks for example etc watch the atherton project arron gwin comes across as being more serious person but will also have a different side in my opinion gee is a better rider because he is the only one that isn't scarred to compete in red bull rampage.
Whish i could find myself 1 of those Commencal Animal shirts the Athertons had too go with my Commencal. Any ideas were too get 1 as Animal havnt any. Great video by the way and defo getting the DVD.
I feel bad for everyone who bought strength in numbers because pretty soon the whole damn movie will be on pink bike for anyone to watch with no charge.
We HUGELY appreciate every single person who has supported us by buying a copy of the film. From the very beginning Strength in Numbers has been a community-based film project. Even if we hadn't done this... all of our films are free online already as illegal downloads and tons of segments have been uploaded to youtube without our permission. This is the new reality of the digital world. Instead of fighting against it we want to embrace it and share our amazing sport with as many people as possible. We hope that if people like what they see, some will buy the complete film so they can watch it uninterrupted and in better quality.
If something's worth having I'll usually buy it if I can, and I never buy anything without seeing it first. This is good marketing for the movie and we get to see before we buy too. Win win.
I've bought the movie anyway. Glad I did and glad I can support. The last movies I would download and distribute illegally are from these small companies producing awesome movies about the sports I am passionate about. I never download bikemovies, skimovies, climbing movies and such illegally. I buy them and support the creators
Buying?! I already bought that s#@t. This is by far the best segment of any movie I have ever bought and or watched. I can't even describe the emotions I feel when watching this. Friggin awesome. Thanks Anthill
i watched it over and over again till i bought it..then i watched it again on my 60" sony using my Ipad connectoin..the shit ROCKED!!! only think i dont like or hesitate on buying the movie is they are kind of short..i atleast would like an hour and a half..i was disappointed with the CoastalCrew movie. it looked like a lot of short clips put together that doesnt tell a story..it was like Porn..with no story..but porn was better ;-)
Couldn't disagree more foosfreak, From the Inside Out was completely excellent, besides the Matt Hunter segment which I found boring. It's broken into segments (like most bike/ski films). Why do you need a story? It's cool to have a bit of narrative sometimes, but it's by no means a necessity.
Yeah, if every snow film was like Art of Flight it would be pretty boring. Most ski/bike/skate films I've seen are segmented. NWD had no story, it was a bunch of segments and worked great. The Coastal Crew movie was awesome, especially the Semenuk section.
redrook..understood..no story neccessary ..just didnt flow as good as i thought.. i think the good part on there was the train gap..i do like narrative..
NWD didnt have a story but it did have some narrative on yea..im about to do this gap right here..been looking at it for months..and its time to kill it.
I hear ya but so did Inside Out, it had a lot of that in it, like both train gaps, Semenuk talking about the yard, how it helped him win crankworx, etc
Glad I own it, thanks Anthill for making such a great film. I watch it all the time when on the trainer. RPMs are like 10-20 higher in the Whistler and World Cup segments!
I considered downloading it illegally, until i saw that cover, its just... Beautiful, and then watching the movie itself on a bluray, even more beautiful.
Good job Anthill, you made one of the best MTB movies!!! Thanks
I HAVE A QUESTION PLEASE! WHY RIDERS LIKE DARREN BEARCLOTH*, ANDERU LAGUNDAGUY, MATT HUNTER AND MOST OF THE RIDERS FROM "WHERE THE TRAIL ENDS" , DON'T ATTEND THIS KIND OF COMPETATION?

Simply because there not fast enough to compete for a top finish. Im sure there fast, but the world cup guys just have that special touch. Also the guys you have mentioned are from a different area of riding (excluding lacondeguy because he was once upon a time on the world up). Different style of ridding.
