Waking up thinking it's Monday when actually it's Sunday.

 Its Wednesday man.

I have a drift and as much as I love it my next camera will be a sony, trusted brand, great products and doesn't look like a microwave on your head!
  • + 21
Everyone's getting all lit up about which camera is better. "pick a camera and be a dick about it"
  • + 4
 I like turtles

Let's be real here.... Everybody will still buy a gopro
  • + 11
That attitude is a bummer. Sony and Contour are really good competition for GoPro and have some cool extra features, not to mention the Sony being cheaper. Plus the ski stuff that Sony puts out is freakin awesome.
  • + 2
Got Sony and GoPro, prefer the sony.
  • + 3
My buddies have GoPro, Drift, and Contour and I absolutely love the Drift and Contour. Plus for stuff out in the backcountry like mountaineering and ski touring, the integrated GPS on the Countour is pretty freaking awesome. The rotating lens on Drift and Contour is nice too, so you can mount it in a funky orientation and still get a straight shot.

I have a Gopro 3 black and when it works it's great... "When" is the key term there. Ever since day 1 I have had issues with it freezing, stopping recording etc. Gopros reps pushed me off with various updates, explanations etc that didn't work until 1 yr hit. At that point they admitted my Gopro was flawed and refused to offer a refund bc the warrenty was up.

It will be hard for me to buy another Gopro after such awful quality control
  • + 5
well, if its not the new GoPro 3+ black edition, you guys are missing out. crisp, clear and more frames for second. i'd say, any gopro older than the 3+ and other cams like sony and contour doesn't even compare to the 3+.
  • + 3
i agree i love my gopro 3+ black! the thing i like about the gopro is how to chest mount works.. its more tucked aways cause of the box styled body..
  • + 3
Gopro black 3 & 3+ are basically the same camera. The 3+ essentially just addresses all the firmware problems with the 3 that Gopro should have fixed to begin with
  • + 1
i bought a contour, because i couldn't afford a go pro, and when i compare my contour to my friends go pro, the footage runs just as smooth. the only reason that everyone gets a go pro is because they advertise more. but when it comes down to it, go pro isn't the best at their own game.

the 3 and 3+ are totally different. aside from the housing which is more compact and lighter on the 3+, the audio and video are much better and both battery and wifi coverage has been improved from the previous iteration. plus, there's the super view mode on the 3+ and better low light capability. anyways, here's a review between the 3 and 3+ with side by side video comparison and other good stuff.

Dude, I've broken 3 GoPro's and I've gotten every single one of em replaced! Mostly its just little things like the shutter button stopped working on the last one, but from a customer service POV I have been more than pleased with mine.... Since I have all the lil hookups and shit for this camera it would be hard to switch, but I'd try it, especially if the editing software was easier to use and less gimmicky. I've got the 3 silver, and couldn't be happier, I'm not a racer, and not a pro, just a guy who likes to ride his bike and is good at breaking sh*t.....
  • + 0
i'd say, gopro made a mistake naming their latest gopro by just adding a "+" to the 3 when its totally way better, giving consumers the idea that there isn't a lot of a difference between the 3 and 3+, but there is and this latest iteration is where gopro left every other pov camera biting the dust.
  • + 3
Go Pro's are like iPhones, more people buy them but a lot of other phones are far superior.

 WHAT'S NOT AWESOME....
When your comment is +60 and pinkbike deletes it because they don't have a sense of humour.
I WAS GOING TO WIN AN ANTHILL T SHIRT YOU B*STA*DS!!!
  • + 3
You deserved it man and you still do. I liked your idea much more than pizza, and I'm a huge pizza fan Big Grin
  • + 19
I have just realised why my comment was deleted and fear there may have been a gross misunderstanding... When I said 'When your girlfriend says, 'you can stick it in the other one if you like'' I was of course referring to sheds. I have two sheds at home, one is known as the clean shed and the other the dirty shed. My girlfriend painted them both pink when she originally bought them but over time the one tucked round the corner behind a bush has gone a kinda browny colour. I normally stick my stuff in the clean shed but sometimes the Mrs prefers that I put it in the dirty one instead. I hope that clears all that up.
  • + 2
Thanks for clearing that up gavlaa. Just a simple shed misunderstanding.
  • + 5
You should ask your girlfriend to trim the bushes and clean up the dirty shed. That way you will have 2 nice and clean sheds to put your stuff in.
  • + 2
 #GavlaaWasRobbed!
  • + 1
And remember to grease the door properly so that all the stuff you stick in it comes in easily and the Mrs doesn't complain.

Watching your own grom grow up and progress as a rider, eventually surpassing yourself. Bittersweet!
  • + 4
This^^^. Mine isn't there yet, but it is pretty awesome when she comes to me and says, "Dad, lets go ride bikes."
Hopefully it is the start of a lifelong love of riding.
  • + 6
When you crash and realise you haven't broken anything...(on you or your bike)
  • + 3
I had that feeling last night Smile
Although I get the feeling that my ribs may be telling me something else, they hurt like a mofo today Frown

On another note, how much air do they get off of seemingly small bumps!! (the big kids, not the little ones.)
  • + 1
That'll be wonderful power of adrenaline!!! Feeling OK at the time and bad the day after... And regarding the air, TBH I'd settle for the air the little kids get. I'm worse at jumps than a fat kid on a trampoline.
  • + 2
This is sick... these guys are definitely my role models I rode with Thomas and Matt at elavate this year and these guys are such sick, humble, awesome shredder so sick to hang with for a week up n silverstar one of the best weeks of the summer !

A lot of things are awesome in life, but being with friends for a sunset session on a hand made trail and landing rockface or a drop that haunted and scares you since you discover or shpae it..there is no better moment for a rider!
  • + 5
Things that are awesome: That feeling of railing that fresh berm that you spent 2 hours building... nothing like it
  • + 3
....yet bitter-sweet too...2hrs work for a section that takes .333 of a second to ride...LOL...but we do it anyways Smile ("we" being those that actually build/maintain)
  • + 2
Trying your first jump/gap/trick and getting out in one piece. Well the moment where you stand at the top of the run in and you go in your head what needs to be done. And in that one brief moment you say "Screw this I'm dropping in!" Every time, this is the longest and most awesome moment I have ever experienced, every single time after everything is done I feel like the kids in this video.
  • + 3
The smile on my face after reading the comments that some Pinkbike users post after PROTOUR brings up his comments on suspension! Usually makes my day.....

These two guys are a good ambassador for our sport.Always enjoying every bit of action they had, never see them without those smiles. Props to you guys..
  • + 4
When riding with music and the trail is in sync with the tune....
  • + 2
You forgot to mention that everyone on Pinkbike thinks they ride like Thomas and Matt but in reality we all look like the 7 year olds.
