You probably already know who Bartek "Jaws” Krzysztoń is, so we will skip the part about his freeride past which is filled up with insane gaps and drops he eats for breakfast. He and Bartek “Wolis” Woliński from
www.wolisphoto.com got a chance to ride and test the Canada’s finest spots in the Vancouver area this summer along with their fellow mate Szymon “Szaman” Godziek. As you may remember the previous photo shoot from Mr. Godziek and Mr. Wolis from this trip now it’s time to go bigger. Just “More Jawsome."
This crew is going to have a great time in BC. | Beatiful British Columbia. Boys were staring at the views every time they were on the road. | Their journey started in the lovely city of Vancouver after a 40 hour trip from the old capital of Poland - Cracow. As they moved slowly from the gloomy coast by a tour bus full of the stoked, weekend warriors ready to attack the Whistler area, the boys knew, it was time to get ready. Crankworx was coming with its all in one MTB action packed events. Just like a little Christmas for bike riders. Anyone who was at the Blackcomb’s zone knows that you can ride it for a straight season and never get bored. Dirt merchant is on the top of the “fun factor” list for sure.
Jaws has been riding on carbon Antidote Lifeline since the beginning of this season. It seems that they both love each other. | | If you re-watch the POV's from your riding day and you notice you are mostly shouting from the joy of shredding berms and rollers, you know it was a good time. - Jaws |
The “Crabapple hits” were the next stop for this fellowship to hit bit before the “Whip-Offs” contest in which Jaws took a part. With the size of the jumps, going sideways means you are a badass. Well, going sideways anywhere does.
A few laps later it was a time to get to the “Top of the World” and get natural. Here they found paths in every possible direction with humongous rock boulders looking like the most pleasant ones. While the pleasure of riding rocks may not appear fun, it was a nice change from the dust clouds from the regular trails.
Jaws enjoying the beatiful view. | Riding down Shale Master. | Filthy Ape - more rocks! | A few corners lower, another little photo session happened as this tiny gap between these trees looked good enough to be shot perfectly. Szymon and Jaws didn’t spoil their riding time and tamed it with stylish euro tables and regular goofy tricks. But goofing around can cause punctured tires. The bad luck only lasted a couple of minutes and some bright soul gave Jaws a pump to help his knobby friend. After Crankworx, our friends knew they needed to head to a new destination in pursuit shredding. It was a time to go 300 kilometers to the South-East to a very specific crossing of rivers...
Braaaap! | The Bike RanchTypical British Columbia scenery flows down on the grassy hills of the Kamloops area. While warm light and the last bits of Summer warm up the sandy soil, our gang made their way to the Bike Ranch. This lovely piece of man’s work sums up the freeriding here. One or two pedal stokes and you simply flow with the rhythm of the dirt. From the little speed jumps through to the smooth drops down to the “I remember this from the movie's" obstacles. Welcome to Kamloops Jaws!
A quick "rental truck sesh" on the way to Kamloops. | So, there is a water in the desert! | Dusty wallride. | Fresh pow. | Pow, pow. | Steezing off this berm. | During Bartek’s two day stay in the city of crossing rivers, he found out why you need to have an eagle's eye. Wilderness hides not only the roaring deers but also some lost jumps, like Matt Hunter’s hip on the top of the hill. After a hardware store drive by, the crew hiked up to the top to re-build the forgotten obstacle and enjoy a solid session just before a storm came in. Remember folks to leave the trails in the better shape than you found them!
Kamloops. | A moment before the first hit. | Sending it. | Weather forecasts are unnecessary in this zone as it changes every half an hour. The only stable thing our pack experienced here are the cactus'. When you hit them during the braking part of the landing, you instantly know that you are alive. Kamloops is well known for its rideable soil, so at the end of a day nothing could beat the pleasure of storming down the steepness in the deep dust.
After the first jump, Jaws realised that there were some sharp cactus' in the zone under the landing, you don't want to crash there.
| I'd like to thank all of my sponsors for making this trip happen! It was definetely one of the greatest trip of my life. See you soon Canada! - Jaws |

So if you are a young Pole and you wish to see Poland as a better, stronger country, hide you envy deep, through away your thoughts about revenge, go and do something nice to your native "enemies". This is the most powerful and the only way.
